Tuck and Mls stared at the broken down mechanism, and the terrible things inside of it.
They looked at each other.
Mls grinned. "I guess we go up the ladder, tuckarino."
Tuck looked back at the corpses.
"al-alright."
The two walked to the ladder, towering over them. The smoke made it so they couldn't even see the top.
Mls stared climbing.
Tuck was hesitant, but he followed behind.
Tuck tried not to look up.
"Well we got a while Tuck, whats up?"
"Im climbing a ladder to face a parasite that might end us."
"Cool beans!"
"Shut up, Mls."
The smoke was making Tuck cough. Mls was concerned for him, so he took off his hat and waved it in tucks face. His yellow hair poofed out.
"You gonna take it or not, dummy?" Mls chuckled.
Tuck blushed, and took the hat. The tied the ends of it around his face so he wouldn't inhale the toxic fumes of the elevator.
"Hey tucky, I see the top!"
"Really dude?! Hurry!! my arms and legs are killing me!"
Mls started laughing as he reached up to the top of the ladder.
But then a female voice came from above.
"Hey you two. I've been busy."
Mls slowly looked up. He was frozen in fear. His lips quivering.
"You ok up there dude?" Tuck chimed. He didn't hear Beth speaking from under Mls.
Beth stepped on Mls fingertips.
Mls screeched in pain.
"MLS!!?" Tuck was scared and fearful for his friend.
"fuck...FUCK!!" Mls screamed.
"I've been real busy."
She stopped on his fingers. His finger bones were nothing but fragments in his hand. He let go, but held on with his other hand.
"Dude, come on we have to jump!"
Mls had tears streaming down his face.
"MLS PLEASE!"
He couldn't stop crying. He was frozen.
"YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME!"
"PLEASE!"
Beth crushed his other hand.
He let go. Tuck stared at him as he fell off the side of the ladder.
his green eyes locked with tuck's sky blue eyes.
"take care of my hat, bro."
He fell and disappeared beyond the smoke.
There was 5 seconds of silence. Then a loud crash.
Tuck screamed.
"FUCK! FUCK!! ILL KILL YOU BETH!"
tuck looked up and Beth had disappeared.
he pulled himself to the top of the ladder. And was now at the first level.
He curled up into a ball and cried. And cried.
He held his friends hat, and re-adjusted the daisy in his ear. He knew he had to move on but how could he? What was the point? Kob couldn't be happy anymore. But he had to try. He had to. For him. Tuck grasped the charge and got on the second elevator to the second level. The elevator automatically started up and sent him to the second level. The core.
He stepped out of the elevator. The room was bright yellow. From the core shining. It was pulsating very quickly. It's using up its remaining power.
Tuck ran toward it. Into the blinding yellow light.
Tuck fell on his face.
"Give up tuck, what's the point?"
Beth had tripped him.
Tuck got up and kept running.
Beth followed behind.
He arrived at the core of kobs brain. He lifted the charge over the pulsating mound.
Beth appeared behind him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Tuck, kobs already dead. There is no point."
Tuck looked up.
"You will just be putting her in more pain."
Tuck thought about his actions.
"There. Is. No. Poi-"
Tuck grabbed Beth's hair and shoved her face into the boiling core.
Beth's hair melted onto the core, her face distorted and warped due to the heat.
He grabbed her by the collar and threw her to the ground. Beth's skin was running down her face. Her lips had turned white.
She lifted her hand.
"This will have consequences, tuck."
He walked over to her and stepped on her head.
Her teeth shattered against the floor.
"You killed my friend!" Tuck screamed.
He stomped over and over. Beth was dead. Her corpse had melted to the floor. Tuck kicked her over and her skin peeled from the ground.
Tuck looked down at her.
For a moment, his eyes shimmered red.
He turned towards the core, lifted the charge, and inserted the charge.
There was a flash of light.
