The back door entrance to the club had led Magnolia and me to a dimly lit hallway. We stood by the back door, as the loud pounding beat of the club's music filled our ears. I could not tell what song they were playing was but the beat was definitely catchy, even from the hall. My excitement escalated and I felt even more energized than before.

"So, do we go through door number one, two, or three?" Magnolia questioned as her eyes flickered between the three doors in the dark hallway.

"Well, I'd assume one door leads to the main club room. I'm not sure about the other doors." I honestly told her. "Let's just go through the door where we hear the music the loudest," I suggested to her and then pulled out two miniature bottles of raspberry vodka. "But, first we must pregame."

Magnolia looked at me with wide eyes, "where did you get that?" She asked as if I had just snuck in contraband.

"They were selling these at the gas station I went to. I figured we would need them tonight." I said as I opened one and handed it to Magnolia. She stared at me as I opened mine and took it all in one large swig.

"Where's the chaser?" Magnolia inquired after a second had passed.

"There is none, just drink it straight," I encouraged. "Hurry up, the longer you take, the longer we are here."

"I hate drinking without chasers," Magnolia stated and then pinched her nose so she could limit the strong taste. She put the bottle to her lips and drank it with closed eyes. When she had finished, Magnolia shook her head and made a sound that showed her disgust, "yuck, that was torture."

"You're such a baby," I commented as I took our empty bottles and placed them back in my handbag.

"Sorry that we all don't do shots like they are water," Magnolia said with a roll of her eyes as she followed me to the last door in the hall, where the music was clearly coming from.

I said nothing in reply, knowing that soon the vodka would hit her and she'd be loose as a goose. Alcohol was not her friend in the sense that she had a low tolerance. Knowing that I was surprised she even drank the bottle of vodka. I'd half expected her to turn down my offer.

When we opened the door, which we'd figured would lead us to the main club room, Magnolia and I found ourselves standing right beside a stage. On the stage was a DJ with large speakers beside his stand. In front of the stage was an enormous dance floor that was packed with people dancing and having what seemed like the time of their life.

Two rows of standing tables were on the side of the dance floor that we were on. On the other side, I noticed booths lining the wall. At the back of the dance floor, my eyes caught sight of a huge bar that stretched the whole length of the back wall.

I grabbed Magnolia's hand and guided her to the bar. As we made our way, I noticed the way people kept eyeing us and I knew that they were aware that we were human. But, I brushed off their looks because I honestly did not care, the only thing I was concerned about was getting a little more alcohol in my system and finding my mate.

The bar was pretty empty but there was a small cluster of people that crowded the opposite end from us.

"They're all looking at us, Viv," Magnolia whispered to me in my ear with a nervous voice.

"Yes, and I bet that they're all listening to us too," I told her with a smile, knowing she knew nothing about werewolves. Oh, there was so much she had to learn.

"Listening to us?" Magnolia asked with confusion to what I had meant.

"They've great hearing, it's a common werewolf gene," I informed her, in a matter of fact tone, before I tried to wave down one of the three bartenders who was serving the people at the other end.
