Louis

It's a noon time on a Saturday, and I was taking a walk five blocks from my house to my favorite café. I ordered my favorite drink and sat myself comfortably. I took my iPhone in hand, and checked the time. Kate'll be here in a few.. just breathe.

You're probably — or not —  wondering: Date? in Starbucks? Seriously? But no,it's not a date. Well, it kind of is but I went here ro meet up with her and apologize and explain. What for? Two days ago, she kind of saw me talking with her best friend alone at a fast food restaurant which I don't remember what its name was, and we were just talking about our plans for my surprise for Kate. But then she jumped into conclusions that I was cheating on her — with her best friend.

Minutes of being all alone, she finally arrived.

She stood there being her pretty self while her beautiful hazelnut eyes bore into my blue ones. Her brunette hair falling effortlessly on her shoulders that gives attention to her pink floral dress which suits her petite body perfectly making my chest tighten. I could never dare cheat on this beautiful lady in front of me.

I stood up to her giving her a light kiss on her forehead and pulled out the stool at the opposite side of me for her to sit down. Because yours truly, was born a gentleman — a genlteman that fucking curses.

"Babe." It only has been two days and it feels like I haven't said "babe" in forever. I know, I'm whipped.

"I'll go get something for you to dri-".

"No, no I'm good, actually." She cut me off taking my hand into hers as she sighed deeply, smiling nervously.

"I'm happy you're here," I paused trying to make out the words I was going to say.

"I actually wanted to tell you something," she trailed off and cleared her throat and I remained silent, waiting for her to continue. "It's just.. Um.. I'm really sorry Louis but, I don't think things between us are actually working the way it was supposed to. Please understand me Louis. I love you I really do, I swear, but I think.." She trailed off again sighing defeatedly. "I think, we need a break, you know?"

My body tensed. What the hell is she doing!? She can't just probably break up with me like this.

"What?" I said, barely inaudible. "Why are you doing this? Babe-" Babe. "That wasn't a fucking date! I would never ever cheat on you, especially not with your best friend. Kate, no, no, don't do this.. please" I went down on my knees — this gesture wasn't suppose to be for this purpose.

"No, Louis it's not that-"

"Then what is this about? I love — damn it! I fucking love you!"

People were already staring but who the hell fucking cares? I know I don't.

"Th-there's someone else Louis!"

With her words, my eyes stung. I mustn't cry, she can't just see me break down.

Without hesitation, I stood up and wiped my cheek — I didn't even realize I was crying until now. I walked away from Kate — the person who was suppose to be there to comfort me — and headed for the doors. I looked back to her through the glass and she had her coat in her hand and apologizing to the people who apparently saw the whole scene.

She walked towards me, and we probably should talk about this. But I know better.

So I ran.

Why is this even happening? I wanted to meet up with her to make things right, but instead, she chose to break my heart and to tell me that all along, she was with someone else, probably better than me.

It didn't take long for me to reach my doorstep. I fish out the keys from my pocket and slid it into the doorknob, opening it.

I run to the kitchen, and searched for something in the drawers and found what I was just looking for. I took it out and opened it. I hesitated at first, but then I thought. What could possibly go wrong?
