Kane stirred to voices whispering indistinctly. He opened his eyes and noticed he was human. "Oh no, what happened?" He asked himself not realizing he was projecting.
"Hush, don't move a muscle." Said Lex. "These are the people we were looking for."
"Are they hostile?" Kane asked.
"The man knocked me out, with a frying pan I might add." Lex replied, clearly aggravated at the primal response.
"Lex it's only fair he did it, he didn't know who you were and besides you might've killed him if he hadn't." Kane pointed out to his brother.
"But it didn't have to be a frying pan!" Lex cried out at his brother.
"Sometimes you deserve a good frying pan to the head." Kane said and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever Kane." Lex thought, clearly irritated.
Lex quickly changed into a wolf as quietly as he could. He heard the man step around the corner a few minutes after he was done. Lex stood up as a wolf, gaining his balance. The man raised his pan intent on hitting Lex, for the second time.
"Lex watch out! He's got a pan." Kane snickered, watching this.
"What are you laughing at, you man-child?" Lex retorted.
"Just the fact that you now have an aversion to frying pans. Looks like I'll have to be the one to cook from now on." Kane smiled wide at his cleverness.
Lex laid down, he realized that fighting with his brother would not do him any good. He'd get Kane back another day. The man lowered his odd weapon and almost seemed to smile at Lex. To him, Lex was a big wolf with a nice fur coat.
"Charlotte! Get my gun, I think I've found me a nice pelt." The man grinned at what he saw.
What Lex assumed to be Charlotte walked in with a rifle in her hands. She handed the gun to the man. This made Lex lose it. He pounced on the man, sweeping the gun away. He rose one paw and looked furiously at the man.
"Lex! No!" Kane yelled.
