Ch.1 Promise me a place

"So what do you think of that Brendon boy?" I heard as someone sat next to me at my lunch table. I recognized him as Brendon's best friend,which was weird because they are popular and I'm just a geeky girl who's into alternative music and reality tv shows. "What?" I asked back and he started to look angry "you heard me,what do you think of Brendon" he growled at me "he's cute but seems a little narcissistic and a little in over his head" I answered back trying not to show I was scared "okay that's nice to know" the kid said as he winked and then walked away.

That was weird I thought to myself as my best friend walked over "Why was Jake just talking to you?" Katie,my best friend said to me I shrugged,"he asked what I thought about Brendon" I said which was the truth "oh my gosh Brendon totally likes you it's so obvious. She gushed like her life depended on it,Katie is a talker and gossiper. We are complete opposites,she loves drama,she's popular,and she actually cares about what she looks like. I'm neither,except maybe a little bit of the loving drama one. "You think?" I finally answered back to her after getting lost in my thoughts "of course you have to ask him out!" She squealed and I did not like it "no I do not like him like that" but maybe,just maybe,I did. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Haha what a weird way to introduce myself. But what in my life hasn't been weird,anyway I'm Jayden and I'm probably the geekiest person here at leaf high and yes that's my schools name. I'm not one of those girls on the cheer team obsessing over guys or going out every weekend.
What I do on my free time is study,of course but I also like to play the piano,song,and play the violin. I have a lot of free time so I practice a lot. But I also have to take care of my pets. I have a dog named maxy,yes like maxi pad,and a cat named swirl. Maxy is named that because he's all white and my mom said he looked like a maxi pad,and swirl is named because she has a swirl right in the middle of her,it seemed right to name her that.
"Hellooo earth to Jayden" Katie was saying as she waved her hand in front of my face "oh sorry forgot where I was" I explained. "Oh really?" She asked "are you sure you're not thinking about Brendon" I rolled my eyes at her "I'm not" just as I said that the bell rang meaning lunch is over.
My next class is the only class I have in the library and we have a project to work on so I just went and sat in my normal corner and started working. I ate some of the leftover food from lunch that I had and I soon realized that Brendon was walking towards me and I slightly started to panic. "Hey" he said and I calmed a bit "hi" I said back probably sounding confused which I was. "How's your project coming along?" He asked "good,how'd yours" "I got out of doing it" he said while shrugging "how" I asked being very curious "I just asked if I could get out and our teacher said yes" "wow that's so cool but I could never get out of it" I said probably sounding like a complete idiot,I mentally cursed myself for it"your really smart and will probably get an A on it" he said and I started to blush a bit "you're very cute by the way" he said while winking  which made me go even more red "thanks,and I thought that you came over so I could do your project for you" I said feeling stupid "I'm not that kind of guy,and do you have Snapchat?" He asked "uh yeah it's Jaydenc1578" I told him "okay I added you,but what are your plans for tonight?" He asked curiously "I'll probably go home and do some homework and then work on some songs" I told him and his eyes lit up "you sing?" He asked all excitedly "yeah I sing,play piano,and violin" I told him "that's super cool,I sing too and play a bunch of instruments" he told me "that's so cool. We have so much in common" I said sounding like an idiot again. "I would love to hear some of your songs sometime" he said "maybe tonight I'll play a cover for you" I said while winking  "I would like that" he said right as the end of school day bell rang "okay talk to you tonight?" I asked "of course cutie" I think I got a little more excited then I should have.
"So have you talked to Brendon?" I heard Katie ask as I was walking to my locker "actually yes I did,I got his Snapchat and he called me cute a few times" I said as Katie squealed "yes I ship it already Braydon is your ship name" I rolled my eyes at her "you're full of yourself" "and you should date Brendon" she said and once again I rolled my eyes "I have so much other things going on that I can't oh and he sings too,which reminds me I need to go home bye Katie I'll text you later" "okay bye have fun tonight" she winked as she walked away.
Once I got home I straight away looked at my phone and saw that someone added me on Snapchat. I already knew it was Brendon so I added him back I sent him a chat
*in the chat*
Jayden: Hey
Brendon: hey what's up
Jayden: I literally just got home goofball
Brendon: wow such a creative nickname
Jayden: I bet you don't have a better one for me
Brendon: I bet I do buttercup
Jayden: awww that's sweet

His nickname for me is buttercup,I can't do this please someone help m- crap he just texted me again

Brendon: it's better then yours
Jayden:do you have Skype?
Brendon:no but I have a MacBook if that's any consolation
Jayden: oh,so do I. I forgot about it,we could FaceTime
Brendon: okay what's your email for it?
Jayden: Jaydenc1578@gmail.com
Brendon:okay one second I'll call you

Im freaking out he's gonna call me and I don't know what to do I don't have much time someone help me I can't do this. Wish me luck,he's calling me "Hey buttercup" I giggled and started blushing like a lovestruck teenager. "Hey goofball" I said back with a smile that hasn't left my face since he called,but that was the same for him "are you gonna sing me a song?" He questioned "not yet I have to learn things about you first" he nodded to tell me to go on "why did you choose to talk to me out of everybody?" I asked getting a bit worried because of the look on his face "you're different and something attracted you to me and I mean just look at you. You're probably one of the most beautiful girls I've seen" he said and I was as red as a tomato and Brendon saw because he started laughing hysterically and wouldn't stop,so I raised an eyebrow at him. "Sorry but you're face was just priceless when I said that" he explained and I started laughing with him. For some reason,me and him can just talk so easily and there's no awkwardness and it's great "what're you thinking about buttercup?" He asked me "oh nothing" I said smirking "so tell me about yourself,family,pets,life" okay this is a step "okay so I'm an only child,and my mom works at the hospital and works the 3 pm to 3 am day so I barely see her,my dad is never home. And I have two pets,a dog named maxy and a cat named swirl." I finished lit of breath and Brendon started laughing "wait maxy as in maxi pad" he said "yup he's all white" I said and laughed with him "okay guess what time it is" he asked "um 5:15" I guessed "no it's time for you to sing" he said face palming "oh ok" I said getting ready so I moved my laptop over to my piano and thought of a song to sing

Once I finished Brendon started to clap a lot and said how great my voice is. We FaceTimed until I was tired and decided to go to bed,we said goodnight and hung up and then he texted me
Brendon: goodnight buttercup
Jayden: goodnight sunshine :)
And with that she was out.
