Chapter Fifteen

Alexis-The saviour

"Adien! Look who's here." Salubong ni Angel kay Adien habang hinihila nito si Adien papalapit sakin. "Your girlfriend is here."

Nakita ko yung pagkagulat at pagtataka sa mukha ni Adien nang magtama yung mga mata namin.

I stood up and heaved a deep sigh.

Just one smile Embry. I thought as I pushed myself to speak.

"Hi."

Great. That's the only word I could muster. Nakita ko kung paanong mas lalong kumunot yung noo ni Adien habang lumalapit to sa tabi ko.

So much for forgetting things and having fun.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Natalie's voice. "Adien? What are you doing here?"

Looks like God still loves me, after all.

"My brother's order. Angel needs company." Ade replied with furrowed eyebrows.

At yung girlfriend mo, hindi?

I'm trying my best to keep my expression neutral when I notice that Nixon and Ade keep throwing me a weary look.

"Who's with you, Nixon?" Tanong naman ni Ade habang nililingon si Nixon.

So, no hi back girlfriend?

Nixon scratched his head. "I'm with April."

Angel beamed at us. "Small world, right."

Small world, indeed.

"Where's Alexis?" Tanong ko dito ng kaya ko ng makontrol yung panginginig ng boses ko.

"I don't know." Angel pouted. "He told me, he was going to be late."

"Oh." I looked around. Nagtama yung mga mata naming dalawa ni Natalie. "Oh right, this is my best friend, Natalie. She told me, you've already met."

Angel smiled at Natalie's direction. "Yup. She's Dave's girlfriend."

Nixon snorted while Natalie narrowed her eyes at Nixon's direction.

When Natalie noticed that we're all looking at her, she threw Angel a smile. Samantalang ako, umupo ulit sa pwesto ko.

"What did we miss, guys?" Tanong ulit ni Angel habang pinaghihila to ng upuan ni Ade sa tabi ko.

I feel another throbbing pain in my chest.

I let out an exasperated sigh. This needs to stop.

Before I could open my mouth to speak. Natalie beats me to it. "We're actually leaving. Embry is not feeling well."

Natalie's statement caught me by surprise but I still manage to mask my expression.

I think this is the only solution to this dilemma.

To run away.

"You're not feeling well?" Concern namang tanong sakin ni Ade.

I laughed bitterly.

Stop fucking pretending that you're concern about me. Gusto ko sanang isigaw sa mukha nito.

"Just a headache." I replied, instead.

"Are you sure?" Ade asked, cupping my face habang tumatabi sakin.

"Damn sure!" I muttered.

Ade peered at my face, looking surprised by my outburst.
