you and your best friend jeff were having a 'movie date' at your house. this was a typical friday night. you two snuggled up watching either comedies or horror films.
you and jeffs relationship was totally platonic, you didn't like him and he didn't like you (in that way).
jeff has been acting different for the past few days, he's been really quiet. usually he's loud and funny around you. tonight, jeff was still acting strange. you paused the tv and looked at him.
"jeff." you say.
"lily?" he questions.
"what's up with you?" you ask.
"nothing i don't know what your talking about."
"jeff, c'mon. you're being strangely quiet. you're never quiet. is there something you hiding or what?"
he sits there looking as if he's contemplating something.
"i don't know how to say this but... i love you."
"well jeff i love you too. we've been best friends since 5th grade." you say clueless to what he's actually saying.
"no lily, i love you. as in like you more than a friend. i want to be with you. i love you." you were taken aback. "and i didn't want to tell you cause i know you don't feel the same way and i don't want to ruin our friendship but these feelings just won't go away."
you smile and lean in and peck his lips.
"jeff, i've always loved you. i've always wanted to be with you and be more than friends but i always thought you didn't like me back." you say.
"so are we going to try to make this work?" he ask moving his pointer finger between the two of you.
"most definitely!" you smile.
