Sweat drips corsley down her forehead mixing with almost dry blood; her body aches but her face shows no sign of weakness. Her chapter nearly feet away back to her, he is so free yet so imprisoned within himself; while she is bound with rope yet free within. He believes power will set him free, but it only pulls him further under, like a drowning man he is conscious long enough to know he's dying. Unlike her, his weakness shows. "Has a murder been a man before a murder or was he born a murder to teach man?" he corsly said his muscles tense at the words he says but he stands by them.
"Had man not been a murder he would not have had to teach his fellow man." her remarks burned through his soul as his eyes tore through her being. Fist pounded into her face like a boxer and her as the bag. Blood seemed to flow from her mouth like a rapid river. After ten minutes he was bored of her and left her in the cold basement for the night like he had every night before and right as he reached the top step she said as she had every other night to him, "night father." his rope tying skills were weak to say the least, but this game was getting her information she needed, information that would uncover the mystery she had been solving for three years, or well trying to. You see people don't just disappear there is always remains a clue something but for four years bodies had been rapidly depleting from existence without a trace and one year later Max Austin Delarosa was brought in from LA to work in the small town of Rocks Vill to solve the case and three years later she is in charge of the shots her only issue is she's not good with others and would rather isolate herself from help. She is an extrovert with an ego you could say.
Missing People Count: 292
Four years 292 people and zero suspects people start to worry there is no hope and hide themselves behind their four walls. Friends become suspects and enemies ban together. Businesses close, people run, a city without safety is a city without a soul. This didn't keep her from working any less. As tensions grew in the small police department her angier raised. Many times a day she would find herself screaming for them to shut up and to work, while nights were spent in front of her desk nothing but a file and a light. When she was home she still worked, her wall a huge pinboard of dead ends and strings to no leads. The stress started getting to her a year ago when one of the missing persons became her girlfriend of two years, but good things die hard she would say and indeed they did. She had no time for emotions or mistake one wrong move and they would have no chance. How can two hundred and ninety two people disappear without a trace. No common caller, no pattern, nothing. No marks, no struggle, she was dealing with thin air. But how do people disappear from under your nose like that it makes no sense. Then again nothing in this town made any sense. If it did things would be easier. Why of all people was she chosen to solve this case? Well she knew why. She's the best. Maybe this was a case no one would solve I mean if she couldn't then who could. She's solved cases no one else could. Even cold cases. This case seemed unsolvable.
"Delarosa Ma'am," Griffin called, "It's time to go home." Griffin had made sure he was taken care of sense she came to this town. She appreciated him a lot but he had a crush on her she didn't desire.
"Thank you Griffin," she said calmly.
"Anything for you babe," he exclaimed as he turned and walked out of the office.
"Be professional Griffin," Delarosa screamed out her office door. She started to gather her things and walk out the door when she heard a voice in the hall with Griffin.
"Sir we're closed," Griffin proclaimed.
"Sorry I'm lost," the voice was unrecognizable to Max and she had heard every voice in this town.
"Well I can help you." Griffin prided himself on knowing how to get everywhere.
"I'm looking for Peaks mountain." he said.
"Well if you go..." Griffin's voice faded walking out the door showing the lostman where to go. Never had a voice been unfamiliar so Max decided to check it out unfortunately by time she had walked out the door they were gone...both of them.
"Griffin," Max screamed, "Griffin where are you?" Gone like the rest. One second there the next gone.
Missing Person Count: 293
Weeks, months, she couldn't remember how long it had been sense Griffin came up missing, but she had an issue functioning without him. First her girlfriend now her best friend, she didn't know how much more she could take.
"Hello Max, I'm Aric its been awhile."
The unfamiliar voice that took Griffin. She ran towards the voice till she saw him. A tall man slim and muscular with black hair brown eyes and a devilish smile.
"Where are the 293 people?" Max screamed running towards him. He disappeared and reappeared on the other side of the room.
"For one that will never work, second it's only 292 people." he snickered.
"Fine where is my girlfriend and Griffin?" Tears dared to pour out of her eyes.
"Your girlfriend? We didn't take her trust me I would know."
"What? Then where is she?" Max was confused where did her girlfriend go?
"Oh that I do know I ran into her at a bar a year ago she told me how she had to escape life here she hated being gay and had no passionate feelings for you, damn that's gotta suck."
"Liar she would never." Max started tearing up now.
"Here is a video if you don't believe me." She watched in disbelief as her girlfriend admitted to not loving her.
"As for Griffin, well I'll return him to you for this girl her name is Kacey and I can't find her,but if you give her to me I'll release all 292 people and leave forever."
With that he was gone but he left a note that said "One month or they all die" One month that's it? Even he couldn't find this girl. What is so important about this girl anyway? Well it's the only way to save these people. I guess its time, lets find Kacey.
