third person

AS GAYEON suspected no one really noticed she was gone, but on the upside—none of the teachers called her parents.

that surprised her, as they called for people who skipped regularly. but maybe the teachers didn't even notice her gone.

she shoves her things into her backpack and walks out of the doors of the school, she has finished early today, and has no need to be here any longer than what she planned.

she ended up going for a couple hours in the middle of the day, and before the last two hours started, she decided to leave.

she takes out her headphones of her pocket, and puts them in her ears, listening to the seventeen song that is being played.

she walks down the sidewalk, looking down at her shoes as she walks further and further way from the school.

she looks up and notices it's like a ghost town today. no car or person in sight— let alone any movement at all. there isn't any sign of life.

she takes out her headphones, slipping off her backpack, she shoves her phone in the biggest super in her bag. she didn't see a reason of having her headphones or phone out as no one was here to bother her.

"yah! what are you doing?" her head snaps to the sound of the persons voice. three boys are running up to her.

'i guess i spoke to soon.' gayeon thinks.

she doesn't know what to do. does she run? does she stay? she thinks, and in the matter of seconds, her backpack is on her pack and she's running for her life.

"yah! get back here!" one of the boys scream.

she ran down the usually busy sidewalk, and crosses the street when she sees fit, but no matter how much she runs the boys are after her, yelling at her to stop.

her breathing gets heavy as she runs down the street she lives. she looks behind her and sees the boys still following her.

'when will they give up?' gayeon asks herself as she runs up the large hill to her house.

she runs into her house, and locks the door behind her, breathing heavily.

"gayeon?" she looks up and sees her father, looking at her. her father— kyungwon isn't usually home that often. he's almost always at work.

"dad! thank god, th-there where these boys chasing me! and the town—it's like a ghost town! that is going on?!" gayeon explains.

it all came out in one breath. she was so confused, she didn't know what was happening, everything seemed so fake to her, like it was a dream.

kyungwon frowned, "someone chased you?"

"that's not important dad," gayeon walks into the kitchen and places her backpack on the counter, "the town! there's nobody on it, not even a plastic bag, it's li-"

"you can't just go past the fact someone was chasing you, what did they look like?" kyungwon asks her.

"i don't know, i didn't get a good look at them." she shakes her head.

"alright... what are you doing home from school so early?" he asks, giving her a pointed look.

"i finished today." she says grabbing something to eat.

"really? all of your classes?" he asks.

"yes," gayeon grabs a juice box to go with a bowl of fruit, "i take my final exams next week."

"good job, kid." kyungwon says, messing up her hair.

"thank you! what are you doing home? and where's mom?" gayeon asks.

"she's out with some friends for a couple hours," kyungwon tells her, "but i have to go back to work in a little bit."

kyungwon watched as the smile slowly left her face at the sound of him going to work. his heart pained as she got sad, he knew he's at work to often, and he doesn't see them much.

although, he couldn't help it. his work calls for him to be there all the time, to watch what is going on and getting work done.

"okay, i have to go clean my room anyway." she smiles at him— obviously it was fake, but kyungwon didn't know that.

"i love you."

"love you too, dad." she gives him a small hug and walks up to her room on the third floor of the house.

her father was a wealthy man, and in result of that, he has a expensive house. three floors not including the basement, pointless rooms, much much more than what they need.

gayeon throws her bag on her floor by her desk and takes her phone out of the pocket.

she sits at her desk, going on her computer she googles the date.

'something has to be going on today...' gayeon thinks.

she searchs for hours until she comes across a small, anonymous question website.

'today has been really weird, first my town was completely empty—it's not usually like that. we have so many people where i live that it's always crowded , then i seen someone beating up another person on the sidewalk. luckily i was close enough to my house that i didn't get hurt, i just went home.'

gayeon looks at the date, and where the user lived. her stomach tightened as she seen they live in the same place and it's the same date, only this post was made a year ago.

she clears her browser history and changes her clothes into more comparable clothes, then lays in her bed to take a long needed nap.
