N/A Point Of View
Liza, awaking the next morning, very confused. Confused as to why her alarm did not go off. She reached for her phone which was usually on the table next to her bed, charging. Not feeling her phone, she sat up in her bed and began to feel all around her, attempting to find her phone. After not feeling her phone, she got up, throwing the covers off the bed and frantically searching for her phone. Looking everywhere from her purse to the bathroom, still not finding it. She started to get worried and realized she might have left it at the salad place her and David went to yesterday. Liza slipped herself into some clothes, not bothering to put any makeup on, grabbed her keys and ran out the door. It was 3:00 in the afternoon so she doubted that her phone was at the restaurant, but she had to look. Arriving at the cafe, she walked quickly through the doors, her eyes darting from table to table. Asking everyone who worked there, only to get no answer that would lead to finding her phone. Liza began walking out of the restaurant, into her car and driving home. She suddenly thought that maybe David saw where she had it last. Making a U-Turn and heading for David's house, going much faster than the speed limit. She arrived at David's house, eager to hear if he knows where her phone is. She got out of her car and jogged up to his door, knocking fast. A few minutes went by, no answer. She knocked again, louder, thinking he might not have heard her knock. 3 minutes went by and still no answer. She glanced over at the driveway, seeing David's car, she lifted her fist to knock again, but put it back down and rested her ear to the door. She heard something in there, footsteps. Walking towards the door. They were quiet footsteps, very faint, as if someone were sneaking around. They stopped right on the other side of the door, but the door remained closed. "David?" She called out. Pressing her ear against the door, she heard the footsteps again, walking away this time. She looked over at the pad lock on the wall. She knew it. She typed in the number 0723, a click at the door. It's unlocked now, Liza opened the door slowly, walking in quietly, saw someone on the couch. It wasn't David, it's Alex. That's not abnormal considering he does live here. Liza walked up behind him and around the couch. Alex jumped at the sight of her. "Did you here me knocking?" She asked. Alex didn't reply, instead he just stared at her. "Alex, are you okay?" Asked Liza. A tear rolled down Alex's cheek.
//Alex's POV//
David's gone. They lost the case. David told me not to answer the door. Especially to Liza, he didn't want her to know. I know I'm crying but I don't care anymore. My best friend is gone! I have to tell Liza, she deserves to know. "David's gone, Liza. He's gone! They lost the case!" I say crying.
//Liza's POV//
What? No! No, no, no, no, no! Oh god this has to be a dream. "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" I scream. "Liza! It's not a dream!" Alex yelled. But, it has to be. I can't live without David. When did this happen? If only I had my phone! "Alex do you know where my phone is?" I asked. "David took it with him. He didn't want you to call him. He wants you to forget him! Liza just get out!" Alex screamed.
I got out, just like he said. What am I without David? Who else knows? I sat down on the porch and began crying. Trying to convince myself it's all a dream.
It wasn't.
