The message was simple, it usually always was. For the team at least. I honestly have no clue what he writes for the other people he invites. Guess I need to buy a dress and a mask. "Hey Steph." I heard Natasha open my front door.

"Don't you ever knock?" I asked with a slight giggle.

"Why would I knock? How many other people just walk up into your apartment?"

"Well the answer should be none, but what do you need?" I put Tony's invitation down and looked at the red head.

"To go shopping, you got Tony's invite right?" I only replied with a nod, "than come on. I'll meet you out in the truck." Then she was gone. I looked back at the invite before going to grab my jacket and bag, then proceeding to go out to what I would guess was Clint's truck. Slipping into the passengers seat Nat started the truck up. "This Ball is going to be fun." I only laughed in response, " I mean, I'll be going with Clint, Tony won't tell us what lucky lady he's bringing, I'm not to sure if Brenda is going, and maybe you will find some hot guy.... or some sexy girl." The assassin teased at the last part.

"Very funny, but I'm not looking for a relationship right now." A annoyed huff ecaped my lips.

"Maybe not, but sometimes love is looking for you. Come on, try to imagine what could happen." I bit my lip closing my eyes and tried to imagine that night of the ball.

"All I see is black...." I mumbled in annoyance, which earned a glance from Nat.

"Well, I'm sure it will still be a great night. We finally get to meet this girl Tony has been going on and on about!"

"I guess you're right..." I looked out the window and went quiet. Natasha kept talking but I wasn't paying attention, the ball was tomorrow night and anything could happen. We got to the store Nat wanted to go to and walked in. "So many dresses...." I was a bit amazed at how many different ones they had.

"Can I help you two with anything?" A small blonde lady asked with a smile.

"I don't, but my friend here would. She's looking for a outfit for a Masquerade Ball." Nat pushed me forward a bit.

"Okay, is there a certain color you are looking for ma'am?" The lady kept a happy tone.

"Umm... Blue" it was almost no thought at all. I was always told that blue was my best color.

"Right this way then." She directed Stephanie in a different direction.

"I'll be right over, just need to get my dress and stuff." Romanoff called before walking in the opposite direction.

The lady had me sit for a moment while she pulled out some dresses. "I would prefer to have a longer dress. If that's okay...." she only nodded and continued looking through blue dresses.

"Try this one on, ma'am." She handed me a light blue dress. I took it to the dressing room and looked at it. It doesn't look so bad. As I was changing Nat called my name.

"Steph, you in here?"

"Ya" I called out as I zipped up the dress to the best of my ability, before she walked in.

"Let me help you with that."she came up behind me and finished zipping it up. "It's cute." I smiled a bit, it was really cute. "Do you like this one?" I nodded and smiled. "Well let's go get you a mask and some shoes that match." I nodded again.

"Okay" she helped me get the dress off and bought.

"Next stop, shoes." We put our dresses in the back seat and She started the car again driving to store number two. Luckily the next store wasn't that far. "So we need, light blue heels and red heels" I only nodded, I guess her dress was red. "Let's go" we got out of the car and walked into the store. Nat dragged me all over the store to find the right shoes for our dresses. After that we went to get matching masks. Mine was very pretty and it didn't really cover too much of my face, which was nice. In all honesty I couldn't wait for tomorrow night. I just had a very good feeling about it.

Most of the next day I spent day dreaming about the night and what would come. I don't know why but I was anxious. About an hour and a half before the ball Natasha and Wanda helped me with my makeup and hair.
