Kayla:
I got up and backed away, covering my mouth. No, why would he come back after all this time? I covered for him, we lived eachother, but still. Why even bother after 11 years? "Why would my brother be here, it's been so long, why even bother?"
He looked at me with concern and sympathy. "I've been saving up to get us a life away from him. I thought I could save you from him, save us both. Neither of us want Dylan in our life."
He looked at my torso and saw that I was bleeding. The wound was still healing, so I wasn't surprised. "Speaking of him, I remember him, so what did he do to you?" He walked over as I tried to cower from him. My vision started to blur, but I fought it.
He caught my as my legs went out and laid me slowly onto the floor. My vision started to clear, "Dammit, I'm gonna have to stitch it u-up again...." I couldn't speak anymore, "Kayla, Kayla May stay with me, don't you dare. You're gonna be fine, it's just a bit of blood... Kayla!"
I heard him talking to me as everything became distant. I knew by what was happening that it wasn't just a little blood. Never really taking it easy for anything was what I did, so none of my wounds healed quick, but it made me stronger. Everything became so distant all I could see was black.
I woke up about an hour later. I wasn't in a familiar place and started to freak out. Suddenly Ryan was by my side, "Kayla, thank god. The doctors were telling me how much blood you lost and everything. I thought I was going to lose you again."
I stared at him blankly before losing it. I made sure nobody was around before I spoke. "You lose me? No, last I recall you ran away and I was left with dad. No, I lost you because you left! I promised dad I would be loyal if he promised to let you go! Save me from him? I saved you!"
He looked at me with a sudden fear as I stood up. "Kayla you shouldn't be up, youre gonna hurt something." I looked at him with a stern death glare. "Ryan, clearly you dont remember our father, because if you did you would know how much worse things I've been through."
"Why dont you show me then, since you're so defensive. You seem to rub it in how you never got away and I did. So show me, remind me of how cruel our scary father is." I growled, "What's that supposed to mean?"
He stared at me with concern, "Why do you push everyone away? I just dont understand, people want to help you!" I looked Down at my feet, he didn't understand it at all. I had to be responsible because with me in the picture it steadies the mood.
"Why do I not let people help me? Because my dad's been trained for a lifetime. He's taught me since you ran off and I'm an assassin! If I let people help me then my father will kill them. If I break my promise to him, he will kill you too! He will kill my friends, my family, everyone I love, I'm his living servant so that they dont get hurt."
"For being raised like an assassin, you sure care about people's lives." I heard his footsteps as he walked over to me. I kept my gaze at my feet before I met his gaze. "Can I see what he's done to you while I wasn't there to protect you?"
I let him pull my shirt up slowly as he studied each scar. "Kayla I'm so sorry, are all of these from him?" I looked at him and blinked before turning around. "Only 5 happen to be from other people. Look I'm sorry I shod get back before my dad comes looking."
Ryan looked at me before shaking his head. I pushed my way past him as I pulled my shirt down. "Thanks for checking in after 11 years, I appreciate it." I walked off rather quickly as I heard him walking after me.
I turned around as he stopped behind me. "Don't Chase after me, I never chased after you. If you want to save me, I guess you're out of luck, but you're welcome to join Dick Grayson's lovely group." I growled before storming off. I could feel his eyes as he watched me. I ran off and then realized I didn't know where I was.
My shirt was blood stained but I didn't care. I would rather that than walk around in a bra. I spotted a sign that said Gotham City Limits. I sighed and ran in to figure out that my house was at the other side of town.
I started to run and heard an engine stop behind me. I turned to see my father's sports car. "Get in, Kayla." He growled, I walked over and climbed in. "I-I passed out and when I woke up I was somewhere in the woods outside town."
I started to make an excuse but he shut me up. "No Kayla, you lie to me so much, just stop. I don't understand why you must be such a liar." I looked at him, "Well if what I say is a lie then what isn't a lie to you?"
He immediately stopped the car and looked at me. "You shut your mouth, I don't want to listen to it!" I looked at him, "You killed mom, said it was a robber. So hows that for a lie? I had to beg you to leave Ryan alone, and practically give my life to you in exchange fir his freedom."
He smacked me before driving off again. I punched him and we started fighting around the front seat. Before either of us saw it, a light blinded us. I heard a crashing noise and felt my body blow into the backseat and out the back window. I looked around as ringing filled my ears and everything went blurry. I spotted some people that I didn't completely know. Those were the last faces I saw before I blacked out.
