One - Ben

Benedict (his parents wanted a child named Ben, but decided that Benjamin was too common) 

Ben liked to think that Lourdes was the kind of girl who would lace her fingers through his and peck him on the lips whenever he did something she liked. He liked to think that Lourdes had a crush on him, but, being the timid girl he assumed she was, was too afraid to approach him.

He was the same way.

"We have a long distance relationship, of sorts," he told his friends (the ones who bothered to listen to his fantasies). "We care deeply about each other, but do so without admitting it to each other."

"How do you know she just doesn't want to talk to you?" Clive asked one day.

Ben laughed. "She's shy, that's all. I can see it in her translucent orbs...."

Then it was Clive's turn to laugh. "Translucent orbs? Ben, have you been reading One Direction fan fiction lately?"

That was the end of the conversation, though Ben couldn't help but think, how does he know that translucent orbs are mentioned in One Direction fan fiction? He doesn't have a sister, or a female cousin, or even a female friend....

Either way, he stood by his theory. He figured that someone as innocent-looking as her had a gentle personality. 

He had no idea how wrong he was.
