Chapter 9: Let The Game Begin Suckers

Annabeth's POV:

I laughed at Theo's reference to Disney. In fact even Narcissa is laughing amused by the fact that Theo even knows the story. At dinner everyone filled me in onto whatever is happening.

Ginny spent most of her time at the Malfoy Manor (Where I currently am ) and she was comfortable with everyone and maybe more with Theo. You never know what is going on under that fiery red hair.

Theo and Blaise and Pansy were like babysitters. After they told their story of how they were running around after Draco and Ginny and making sure they ate their food properly.

Draco and Ginny wouldn't stop talking. Their eyes glistened with happiness. They radiated such positivity it felt like everyone had forgotten their problems...

Theo joked about different accents. How Canadians said about like a- boot; Americans being unable to pronounce Spanish or an Indian language. It was hilarious watching him do the accents.

Once everybody was done Narcissa made an announcement...
" Luscius will be coming home tonight,"
I felt Draco go rigid in his seat. It was a surprise to all but i was simply curious. How was Luscius coming home? Wasn't he in askaban? Before I could ask Narcissa how that was possible, the bell rang. No one moved. There was a pin drop silence.

With a wave of the wand, Narcissa opened the door. Her hands were shaky...

The main door opened. The footsteps reverberating and getting louder by every step. The door to the dining room opened, revealing a bearded man in his 50's. The man staggered forward. Luggage he held was thrown forward.

"Shape shifting is a tedious task ain't it?" The man said.
He drew his wand and stood in a ready stance. He flicked his wand. For a second nothing happened.

Then the table started shaking . The food started moving violently as it rose up in the air. Blaise stole a cookie from the air and shoved it in his mouth. Inspite of being terrified i couldn't help but giggle. Everything fell back to normal. This caught the man's attention.

He turned sharply to look at me. I noticed the beard was gone. The old man with stiff bones was gone and replaced by a young man with straight elegant whitish blond hair. The old man was now Luscius Malfoy.

It was impressive the transformation. I applauded in appreciation. I was the only one who did.
"How did you do that?" I asked.

Everyone at the table just stared at me. It was a look of pity, like RIP friend, see you on the other side. Luscius looked at me with a grin. His eyes clear with recognition and happiness. A grin consumed his face.
" I will teach you this trick Annie" he said

Draco's lips formed a smile. An actual smile.

Draco's POV:
Luscius was unstable after he had to go to askaban. He was a mad man. My mother and I were given a second chance. I really didnt want Luscius to hurt hermione. I couldn't let that happen. But seeing him talk to her like this was great. All the tension that existed was gone.

I rose from my seat and went to hug my father

"Glad to see again dad."

" Happy to see that you are alive son" he said while returning the hug.

"Oh Luscius" my mother said. She got up and went to hug dad. They hugged each other tightly.
