It was a typical Monday morning, with the wind blowing in every direction, I just couldn't wait to get inside the classroom.
Starting the first semester of my final year in high school, the pressure of getting into a good college was stressful.
Being 16 was definitely a trump card for lazy "I'm not bothered to walk 20 minutes to school" type of person A.K.A me, obviously. I've just about got my driver's license, when I finally hit the kerb with missing the stupid school bus every morning.
But all good comes with its evil twin. Waiting for my best friend every morning is such a drag. She takes hours staring at the mirror, applying layers and layers of makeup. It honestly is amazing how she's able to cover all her freckles.
Through the exterior mirror I could see her running with a piece of toast in her mouth. "Typical" I signed. She has all the time in the world to wear makeup, but she can't spare 5 minutes to eat her breakfast.
"Sorry I'm late babes, you know me I just needed a quick touch up. I just can't stand blotchy lips."
And this is my best friend Charlotte Hunter, Char as she likes being called, A.K.A the hottest cheerleader in school, practically every guy in Gaurdan High drools over her.
Her body is well proportioned with super curvy hips that accentuates her perfectly round butt.
Not to mention her C cup boobs, (between you and me, she's really a D cup but she just likes that extra oomph to lift her boobs slightly higher when she wears a low v.)
On top of that she has scarlet blonde hair that looks silver in the sun. She's practically every man's dream. But, you know what they say, not everyone is perfect, everyone has a few secrets of their own.
In middle school before I moved into town she was apparently called 'nerderella' as rumours say, but I don't think it's as bad as it sounds I mean she still was beautiful even if she was a nerd, but now she acts like a complete bimbo.
With ocean blue eyes, that almost glistened every time she fluttered her lashes, people were head over heels. On the other hand, I was slight taller than her with longer legs, not that curvy at all but had some good pointers.
I was a brunette with a slight hint of auburn but I convinced myself I was brunette. With pale green eyes. It wasn't anything special, but being the only one with a different eye colour in the family raised a few questions.
What were the odds of having green eyes?
I don't know, I just didn't understand why I was different. As a child dad has always told me my eyes was a pure form of innocence that had the power to unlock the darkest of secrets.
He was always going on about Yin and Yang (balance of light and dark.) Not that I believed him, I mean it sounds crazy and unbelievable from the moment you hear it, but it was interesting.
But any ways getting back to the story, Char and I were heading to school with the usual blast of music, rapturing my ear drums, the car seemed oddly quite than the usual atmosphere.
I quickly glanced over at Char, who looked like she had something to say. But I didn't say anything, I got the gist she had something on her mind.
"Soo... Paige, I was thinking of going with Dex to Crude Plays concert, you want to come?"
"I mean he has two spare tickets, and I would love for you to come."
Dex A.K.A Damien Foster was Char's boyfriend, he was a year older than us. He's very tall, probably 6 ft, compared to Char who's probably half his size. He was good looking I'm not going to lie, but he wasn't my type of guy.
