Jennie flinched when another stroke of lightning struck down from the clouds. The rest of her friends were sleeping peacefully, in their dorms, but some thoughts rattled Jennie's mind. She could never forget that day no matter how much she wanted to. She knew it affected all of them but it seemed to impact her the most. She knew why though. All of their sadness and frustration was caused by her. 

She shook her head and stood up- heading back to her room. Opening the door quietly, she went inside and carefully laid on her bed. Jennie could feel herself drifting asleep before she heard a voice speak.

"Couldn't sleep again?" Jisoo asked bluntly.

"Yea."

Jennie awoke to screams and banging outside her room. She groaned in response and peeked over to see Jisoo's empty bed. When she opened the door she found Lisa and Jisoo tackling each other on the floor and Rose was by the stove attempting to make breakfast.

"Ah, good morning unnie!" Rose exclaimed, waving her hands joyfully.

"Hey. What's wrong with them?" Jennie replied as she snatched the pan away from Rose and made the food herself.

"Lisa threw out unnie's bubble maker." She answered while jumping up to sit on the counter.

"That's a petty thing to tackle each other for," Jennie stated.

"Well, that's Jisoo and Lisa for you."

"Ay, children get off the floor, eat and get ready for school." She lectured as she lightly kicked Jisoo and Lisa. Their moods immediately changed as they heard that word.

"Ew, can we skip today?" Lisa pouted, clinging onto Jennie's leg.

"No. I expect us to be out the door in 10 minutes. Or else."

They immediately went to the dining table and shoved the eggs down their mouths. 

"We gothu unnie!" Lisa said, her mouth full of food.

"Close your mouth that's disgusting," Jennie responded.

After eating, they quickly dressed up and went out the door. As they got closer and closer to the building their moods slowly dimmed. They had to get their expression and demeanor ready before encountering their classmates. It was always like that. They could be themselves at home but become cold, ruthless girls at school. That was their defense mechanism.

But for Jennie? She hasn't witnessed her true self in over 6 years.

as i wrote this i saw some things that actually reflected off real life

-during variety shows and vlives they can be themselves but in award shows they are not allowed to react to certain boy bands like BTS so they have to be 'cold' or like statues

-and jennie has been a trainee for 6 years, she was "normal" before then but now her whole life has changed
