"She's waking up!" Someone shouted. I struggle against them, trying to get up.

"Where am i?" I question.

Silence fills the room. No one answers my question they continue on with whatever they were doing before.

I got annoyed at their lack or response to my question and stand up in one swift movement and run for the door someone catches my arm, I attempt to throw them off me but that gets me nowhere. They are a lot stronger than me. They knock me to the floor.

I try to stand again but I felt a sharp pain go into my arm, I turn to look but all I saw was a blur then nothing...

As I awake I notice I am strapped onto a table, I begin to freak out. But someone assures me that it's ok and that there's no point in struggling. A man in a black suit and red tie then enters the room.

"Hello Jasmine , my name is Nyx, and you are here for a special reason, I'm sure you have figured out by now that you aren't in a hospital"

"Yes I know I am not but where exactly am i?"

"You are going to begin your training here but no one else is to know, do you understand? Because if someone finds out we will have to kill your family and everyone close to you."

"Training for what!? and I don't have family!"

"Don't lie child, we know you have family, we know more about you than you think." he continues " "see students this is why we have this girl, she always looks so innocent like she could get away with murder." he smirks.

I was stunned I didn't know how to respond what did he mean by 'she could get away with murder' he couldn't possibly make me kill people could he?

2 days earlier...

"Dad I'm going for a walk!" I yelled out to my father who had annoyed me once again in the past 15 minutes. He had once again forgotten to take me to an event because his girlfriend had gotten in the way and was once again more important.

"That's great honey" he replied, I had no idea whether he was talking to me or his girlfriend, Abbey, but I left anyway.

I decided to go for an extra-long walk this time and because I chose to do that I didn't want to drag my old weak dog around with me, like I usually do for shorter walks.

As I was walking near the park a black van pulled up behind me. I turned to look but was then pulled aside and pushed into the van. The door was closed behind me and I was hit over the head with a hard object.

Day 1 training:

I wake to a room full of innocent looking teenagers, some still sleeping on their bunk beds, some quietly talking. The ones that are awake turn to look at me. I just stare back, not knowing what else to do. One of the teenagers approaches me; I immediately feel butterflies in my stomach.

"Hey my name is Skye, you're the new kid right?"

"No shit Sherlock!" shouts another kid near the far back corner of the room.

I feel a blush creeping up on me. Why do I blush so badly!? I think to myself.

But that just makes me blush more as I come back to reality this time with more faces staring at me.

"Yeah, my name is Jasmine, "I say after I come back to the real world.

After I get an introduction to everyone I'm escorted outside to start my "training". The field is practically just dirt, but in the distance, still within the fence's boundary lies an equal amount of green forest with tall trees overlooking the land but not too close to any of the fences, as if we are not meant to escape.

"Listen up everyone, as most of you know we have a new student with us, her name is Jasmine for all that didn't know." Shouted Nyx from the stage. "Since she is new we are going to have to catch her up in her training."

"Training for what?" I whisper to Skye.

"You don't know?"

"Yeah, that's why I'm asking you."

"Well you were taken to this camp to begin training to become an assassin."

"But why me? Why us?"

"Because we are special, we look innocent enough to 'get away with murder' as Nyx likes to say. And that's only if we do get caught but that rarely ever happens."

"I'm sorry girls, am I interrupting you? Would you like to share with us all?" Nyx says sarcastically.

"Um, no sir sorry." Some people laugh when I said this.

"My names Nyx not sir, I am not a private school teacher, I am your trainer." "Now go off into the groups with your number."

"Our number?" I ask Skye.

"On your wrist dumbarse" she says with a smirk.

"I can't believe I didn't see that!"

"Neither can I" she muttered under her breath with a smile.

"What group are you in?"

"3"

"Same, uh can you show me where it is?"

"Yeah, of course that's what friends are for!"

We begin our walk into the forest-like part of the camp, stopping in front of target signs on trees. Bows and arrows are placed into our hands.

"Now, I'm sure you all know what these are, am I correct?" Speaks my trainer.

We all nod 'yes', and begin. A little while after we are told to present our skills one at a time.

When it came to my turn I was a little shaky with the pressure of everyone staring at me and as I shot the first, I missed the target all together.

"Take your time, breathe out and relax while shooting the arrow."

I took a deep breath and shot again, just hitting the border this time. The third and final shot I was about to take when someone shouted "hurry up grandma!" I turned with fury blazing I shot at him and it pinned his cap to a tree, narrowly missing the top of his head. Bullseye!

"You just missed my face!" he shouted.

"I know" I reply, "next time I'll aim for it."

He stood there looking both shocked and annoyed. 'Well you would be too if someone just missed your face.' I think to myself.

The trainer, I think her name was Lee or something like that, "great shot hon, too bad you didn't channel that anger into the actual target."

It's weird I'm usually a very patient and calm person but the moment someone pisses me off all patience and calm persona disappears.

Day 2 of training:

"Skye! Wait up!" I pant to Skye, whose a couple metres ahead. Jeez they really push us here. Well I suppose they kind of are training a mini army.

"Come on slow poke, we don't have all day. You know what happens to those who can't keep up; you'll get moved to the cooking duties."

"It can't be that bad can it? I mean it's just cooking."

She gave me a strange look "Just cooking?!"

"Obviously by your reaction that's a no."

"It's a very big no." "'Cooking duties', as they call them are horrible. You are made to cook for hours and hours straight just to cook a 5 course meal for the trainers and the master that hardly anyone ever sees."

"There's more though isn't there?"

"Yup, it gets worse. If the trainers don't like the meal then you are punished. No one really knows what happens, except the trainers of course. They just enter this strange room and then they aren't seen again."

***

I tossed and turned that night thinking of how I'm going to survive here. I'm not the fittest person alive and if chucked into the kitchen I'm toast. I giggled to myself at the last part 'kitchen' 'toast'. I guess I'm more nervous than I thought.
