The Winter

She was called Rose for a reason

When I was born my mother called me Rose because my eyes were red,but she never thought why,but after a few days they were a cold blue,my mother still and will never know why,I only found out when I was five after all,

"Rose Winter,Come her at once!"My mother sweet voice changed into a uneasy tone
"Coming..."I said shyly as walked over to the shards of china sitting on the ground,

"Look at this mess"she said sternly as she pointed at the broken vase on the tiled kitchen floor

"I'm sorry mamma"I look away fiddling with my fingers nervously,

"Now I have to clean it up before your father gets home."she sighs,I know she hates him,but he is the one that works,if it wasn't for him,we would be starving and homeless,so she tries to obey his commands,

"Mamma,why don't you marry a different man?"I ask curiously before I start picking up the pieces

"Go get your dress on darling,"she smiles at me,changing the subject before she tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear,"you are beautiful Rose,don't let anyone tell You otherwise"
I nodded quickly before I dashed upstairs to find a pretty dress for tonight,dad was taking us out for dinner tonight,and then we would watch a movie at the theatres,I was so excited,so dug through my huge closet standing on my tiptoes to reach the top of all the dresses,a small purple country dress and pink sneakers caught my eye,I quickly picked them out and went into my bathroom,I washed my face and brushed my teeth,,

I quickly put on my dress and sneakers as my father walked through the door.For once he didn't yell at my mother

"Papa!"I shouted happily as I bolted down the stairs and jumped into his arms

"Hello Rose"he smiled hugging me tightly"is your mother ready?"

"Yes I am dear"my mother smiles slightly as she walks out of the bathroom in a tight black dress with purple earrings and her Dark brown hair up in a bun

"Well don't you look amazing"my father complimented my mother

After we went to dinner and the movie,I must of fell asleep on the car ride home,because I woke up in my bedroom to the sound of yelling and screaming,I knew what was happening my parents were having another fight,but I could tell that it wasn't just yelling,I could here my mother being hit by my father

I quickly got out of bed and I ran downstairs with tears silently falling down my face
I stood in front of my parents as my father was slapping my mother,

"Pa-papa"the tears started streaming down my face,"Stop papa! You're hurting Mamma!"

My father looked at me,in shock"oh rose I am so sorry..."he sounded nervous,he walked over to me and picked me up

"Let go of me!!"I kicked my legs around pounding on his chest

"Rose go back upstairs"he placed me down

"Y-you,hurt Mamma,Papa"I wipe my tears and run towards mother and cuddle her and notice her bleeding red cheek,

"Rose get away from her!,she is a monster!"My papa yells at me

I stayed silent"R-rose darling pack your things were leaving"

And with that my mother left with me after I packed all of my things,and we went to her rich boyfriend's house,it turns out she was already dating someone,like she knew this would happen,she is getting a divorce with my father now,he is such a monster,
