Icy ran up the steps to the castle, tugging Sirius along with her. Her best-friend's thoughts were racing, and Icy found it hard to stay out of them."What if she's lying? What if they've turned her against me? Dumbledore will never believe me- I should just run,"
"No you shouldn't," said Icy aloud. "Dumbledore is confronting Pettigrew as we speak- we're almost there, Black. Just wait a minute."
Students ran off screaming when they saw Icy with Sirius, but the two just continued to walk. Finally, they reached Dumbledore's office.
"Blood Lollipops," said Icy, revealing a spiralling staircase. When the two finally entered the office, they were greeted by, 1. An Unconscious Peter Pettigrew, held down by Dumbledore. 2. Professors McGonagall and Lupin. 3. Hermione, Ron and Harry, and 4. The Minister of Magic, with a dark-skinned auror.
"Er- Uh- hello Minister," said Icy, "Mr. Shacklebolt," she made her way across the room, still holding Sirius's hand, and they sat down beside Ron and Harry and Hermione.
"The Prophet is going to have a field day," fretted Cornelius Fudge. "We imprisoned the wrong man, for twelve years... I'm incredibly sorry, Mr. Black."
"Didn't I tell you?" Icy grinned, hugging Sirius. "I said it, only guilty go mad. Didn't I, Mr. Fudge? And you didn't believe me-"
"I'm giving Peter Pettigrew to four life-sentences in Azkaban, and revoking his Order of Merlin, which will instead be awarded to Sirius. And, you say, Mr. Pettigrew is an animagus? We will register him, and place him in a cell that is magic-proof. He won't be able to transform," Fudge explained what would be happening, ignoring Icy.
Icy zoned out as he talked, but was completely awake as she watched Peter Pettigrew transforming into his animagus. "Look!" she shrieked, and jumped at him.
The rat crawled under the desk, and Fudge sighed deeply. "Kingsley," he said.
Kingsley muttered a spell, and Pettigrew went whizzing into his hand. He shoved him into the cage Icy had charmed, and locked it.
"And as for your custody request, Mr. Black, I'm sure that you can adopt Miss Peverell."
"Thank you, Minister!" Icy squealed excitedly.
"However, Mr. Potter is to remain with his muggle relatives."
"What?" Professor Lupin asked. "Why? Sirius is his godfather. Lily and James wanted Sirius to be his guardian. Not Petunia and Vernon."
"You're with them?" Sirius asked Harry, outraged.
"I'll be leaving now, come along Kingsley. Good day," Fudge stepped into Dumbledore's fireplace, and Kingsley followed.
"So where are we going to live?" Icy asked Sirius, buzzing with excitement.
"My parents left me a house," Sirius gave her a smile. "We'll have to fix it up though, who knows which creatures are infesting it- and there's this awful house elf..."
"How could a house elf be awful?" Hermione asked. "They're absolutely the sweetest things."
"This one is wicked. He's turned against Muggleborns and Half-Breeds," Sirius explained. There was a moment of silence, and then Icy spoke.
"I guess- er- you'll want to talk to Harry then, right Sirius? Hermione, Ron and I will go back to the Gryffindor tower..." Icy trailed off, and Sirius nodded.
The three were making their way to leave, when the fireplace flowed green, and a very shaken Minister of Magic stepped out.
"He's escaped," was all that the man could say.
