Promise is a lie

I lie on the damp sand, small waves crashing on me. I can hear my phone alerting one after another, probably from Maggie. I ignore the sound. I breathe in the nice cold air and hold onto my necklace, I'm not sure if I should throw it into the water or not. My face tightens as flashbacks drift through my mind. I don't want to think about it, but it won't leave me alone. I squeeze the necklace and hold my breathe while a wave comes bolting over my whole entire body and face. My feet burry into the sand. Under the salty water I can hear my phone ring, my ringtone is the Friends tv show theme song. The water washes away and I gasped for air. I let go of the new shiny necklace , josh bought it for me. For my birthday, which was 4 days ago. It's been 4 days since I saw his face or Maggie's. My phone rings again for one hundredth time, I listen to the words ' I'll be there for you even if the rain starts to pore' . Is it a coincidence that it was raining at the time ?

I wish this was a dream.
