Applause (Yuya x Reader)

"It's opening night! Everyone ready?" (Y/N) shouted excitedly. (Y/N) was a trapeze artist at Duel Circus, a traveling circus that blends dueling and circus performers into an amazing show.

I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong.

  Of course, there were always the critics trying to get people to stop coming. "It's basically a rip off from entertainment dueling!" "You call this a circus?! This is nothing more than pure chaos!"  

To crash the criticts saying, "Is it right or is it wrong?"

 (Y/N) never let any of that get to her. She loved performing! The energy, the music, the smiles on everyone's faces... it made her feel so full of energy and happiness that it made her feel like she was about to explode!

If only fame had an I.V., baby  could I bear.

"All right, everyone, get ready!" The ringmaster shouted. (Y/N) jumped up and down before realizing there was someone missing. "Wait, where's Yuya?" (Y/N) asked worriedly, looking around. Yuya Sakaki, one of the best entertainers ever, was nowhere to be found. He had agreed to perform in the circus and had been practicing with everyone for weeks. (Y/N) sent him a text message.

(Y/N)

Where are you? Its about to start!

A few seconds later, Yuya replied.

Yuya

Don't worry, I'll be there. Just have a few more things to finish up.

(Y/N) sighed. She had only known Yuya for about a month and already she could tell when he was in a duel. "That guy better not mess this up. The circus can't afford to refund all the people who came to see him." (Y/N) muttered under her breath.

"(Y/N)! It's starting!" Lola, a fellow trapeze artist, shouted out. "I'm coming!" (Y/N) said, hurrying to get in position.

I live for the applause, applause, applause.

(Y/N) could already hear the applause as the music started up.

I live for the applause -plause.

(Y/N) could feel her energy rise up. "No matter what, this is going to be an amazing show!" She shouted to everyone around her. They cheered, also excited for the show to start.

Live for the applause -plause. 

 "Okay everyone, time to put on masks!" One of the lion tamers shouted. Everybody did so. You see, the Duel Circus is also where the performers put on masks to hide their identities, since many of them were actually famous and world-renowned duelists and performers. 

Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me.

"Is everybody ready?!" The ringmaster shouted to the crowd. The volume was deafening. "Hurry up! We want to see some action!" Some of the people from the crowd shouted.

The applause, applause, applause.Give me the thing that I love. I'll turn the lights on.

That's when the lights lit up, canons firing and showering the crowd with confetti and glitter. And that's when it started. Duel Monsters sprang up out of nowhere, doing tricks alongside their duelists. 

Put your hands up, make 'em touch.Give me the thing that I love. I'll turn the lights on.

Dazzling displays of acrobatics and animals doing incredible tricks followed. Magic tricks that boggled the mind enchanted the audience were done by some of the best magicians in the world.
