(Y/N) stood out on her balcony, looking out at Heartland. She started crying, tears going down  her face, sobbing quietly.

How can you see into my eyes, like open doors?

"(Y/N), what's wrong?" She spun around at the sound of his voice. "N-nothing Astral, nothing at all." She said quietly, looking away from the floating alien, wiping hurriedly at her face.

Leading you down into my core, where I've become so numb.

"Besides, aren't you supposed to be with Yuma? I heard that he has a duel to prepare for tomorrow." (Y/N) said, trying to change the subject. She had gained back some control of her emotions.

Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold.

"Yuma will be fine. I'm more worried about you. You're shivering." He observed. (Y/N) rubbed her arms subconsciously. "Not really, just a little chilled."

Until you find it there and lead it back home.

"You should go inside, where its warmer." Astral said, getting a little worried. (Y/N) shook her head. "No. I'm fine, really." She smiled unconvincingly at him.

Wake me up inside.

"Are you certain?" He asked. (Y/N) nodded. "Yeah." She said, looking away from him.

Wake me up inside.

"(Y/N), what aren't you telling me?" "I don't know what you're talking about." She said stubbornly, not meeting his eyes as he tried to get a good look at her face.

Call my name and save me from the dark.

(Y/N) sighed, trying to hide a piece of paper in her hand. "(Y/N), you know you can tell me anything." Astral said softly.

Bid my blood to run, before I come undone.

She nodded shyly, putting the note in her pocket for the moment. She looked up at him, debating whether or not to tell him.

Save me from the nothing I've become.

She shook her head and looked back down. "Its stupid anyway. You have better things to do then worry about me." She muttered. "Are you saying this because you wish for me to leave you alone?"

Now that I know what I'm without, you can't just leave me.

"No!" She said, shaking her head and reaching out for him and pulling him to her. Astral was surprised. She had never been able to do that before now.

Breath into me and make me real.

She wrapped her arms around him before she really started crying. "Please...stay with me." She cried into his shoulder. Astral wrapped his arms around her, slightly bewildered. "I will."

Bring me to life.

She continued to cry in his arms, clinging to him. He stroked her hair, hoping that it might help somewhat.

Wake me up inside (2x).

"(Y/N), please tell me what's going on." He said once her crying died down to a soft whimper,  really wanting to help his friend.

Call my name and save me from the dark.

She sniffed and pulled away, looking sadly over at the city. "I'm not sure if even I know what's going on. My minds been...all fuzzy lately and I... keep getting these horrible flashbacks." (Y/N) hiccuped, wiping at her eyes.

Bid my blood to run, before I come undone.

"(Y/N)..." Astral started to say, but she cut him off, starting to ramble. "I keep getting nightmares, and some people at school have been saying that everything would be great if I  just-"

Save me from the nothing I've become.

"Just what?" He asked. She looked down at her feet. "Just disappear." His eyes widened.

Bring me to life.

"(Y/N), you mustn't listen to these bullies." Astral said sternly. (Y/N) nodded, still not looking at him. "I know but...what if they're right?" She said softly.

I've been living a lie. There's nothing inside.

"Of course they're not. (Y/N), what is this really about? You've never let these things get to you before." Astral asked, trying to get her to look at him. (Y/N) smiled bitterly. "I got tired of lying."

Bring me to life

"What?" "I got tired of lying. To myself, my family, my friends..even to you, Astral." She said, looking up into his face.

Frozen inside without your touch, without your love, darling.

She was crying again. "Oh (Y/N)." Astral said softly, wiping a tear away. "I...was hoping I didn't have to say goodbye in person." She said quietly, edging towards the edge of the balcony.

Only you are the life among the dead.

(Y/N), where are you going?" Astral asked, getting worried. (Y/N) stopped just barely at the edge and looked at him, smiling as tears ran down her face. "I'm going to disappear." With that, she fell off the edge.

"(Y/N)!"

All of this time, I can't believe I couldn't see. Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me.

(Y/N) felt a hand wrap around her wrist, stopping her from falling. She looked up. "Astral?"

I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems, got to open my eyes to everything.

"Just hold on!" Astral yelled, holding onto her. (Y/N)'s eyes widened. "Astral, why are you doing this?"

Without love, without a voice, without a soul.

"Because you're my friend, and I'm not going to let you go!" He said, trying to pull her up.

Don't let me die here, there must be something more.

(Y/N) started crying again, the realization of what she almost just did hitting her. "Please help me, I don't want to die!" She sobbed, her free hand reaching up and grabbing onto his.

Bring me to life.

"I won't let go, I promise!" Astral said, doing his best to pull her up.

Wake me up inside (x2).

She tried to help him, but wasn't able to do much.

Call my name and save me from the dark.

(Y/N) started to get a sickening feeling in her gut. Astral realized what was happening as well.
"(Y/N), you're slipping!" He said, trying to get a better grip on her hands without dropping her.

Bid my blood to run, before I come undone.

"Astral, I'm scared!" She yelled. "I'll get you up, don't panic." Astral said, slowly but surely pulling her up.

Save me from the nothing I've become.

(Y/N) started to feel happy as she got closer and closer back to the balcony. "Almost there!"

Bring me to life.

She smiled, starting to cry tears of joy and relief.

I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside.

(Y/N) was so close, close enough to reach out and grab the railing. Which she did, thinking it was safe enough to do so. It wasn't.

Bring me to life.

Her hand slipped off, but Astral got her again, pulling her up into his arms. (Y/N) cried, clinging to him. "Thank you."
