"Natasha we are here. Pretend to be excited at least!" My dad tells me while sighing. I roll my eyes and just look out the window. I think back to all my friends and my life back home in Florida. But now I am stuck in this place... Oregon. It is definitely gorgeous here with the tall trees and chilly weather, but I will never admit that to my parents. Especially since I was content with my life back home. I look back down at my phone and the next thing I know my dad has parked the car in front of the apartments. My mom turns around and gestures for me to take my headphones off. I slowly take them off and look around at the apartments. They look nice but I thought we were going to get a house. As if my mom had read my thoughts she said "this is temporary, just until we find a house we all really like. We might end up moving out of Portland within a few months once your dad is completly settled with the windmill company. I know this isn't ideal but we thought that Portland would be better for the time being. We will most likely end up moving somewhere along the Gorge." I groan and respond with a simple "K".
I asked my dad for the keys and figure out the apartment number. We left most of our stuff behind because they wanted a new start, so I knew our apartment had everything we already needed. I started walking the hall and I see a boy come out of his apartment. I watched him lock his door and he turn around. He was looking at his phone and bumped straight into me. He looked up and let out a nervous laugh. "Oh god, I am so sorry. You must be my new neighbor. My name is Levi, Levi Underhill. I'm sorry for bumping into, I'm kind of in a rush right now. What was your name?" I smiled at him, "It's Natasha". "Well Natasha, it was nice meeting you, I hope we can get along." he quickly says while slowly backing away. He ends up at the corner, smiles at me and disapears. I chuckle outloud and look at the door leading to my new life. I take a deep breathe and open it. I look inside and I am suprised by what I see. The kitchen is marble and I can see all the pots hanging up shining. Not like we will actually use them, my parents are always working so I order takeout most days. I head back to the bedrooms and head into the room I assume is mine. I think this will work out. The theme is the same as my old room, all dusty rose and black. I smile a bit and think that maybe... Just maybe Portland won't be that bad.
