I knew I shouldn't of walked through here, I thought to myself as the men closed in a circle around me. I always seemed to get myself into situations like this. One minute I'm walking back to my hotel, deciding to take a little shortcut through the ally, and the next thing I know there are three men closing in around me. Sure, I probably shouldn't have been walking around at night in a city like this, alone and unarmed, but it’s not like I was expecting anything to happen. Besides, I can handle myself.

The men- all around twenty and smelling strongly of alcohol- were slowly closing in on me, backing me into the brick wall of the alley. "wahts a gurl like you doin' out here all alone?", the big one with died blue hair slurred. "I don't see how that's any business of yours", I remarked as my back hit the wall behind me. OK, it’s time to leave, I thought. I turned slightly to the left, ready to bolt when an opening was available, but one of the men put a hand on my shoulder, his fingers digging into the material of my dress. "Hey! What’s the hurry babe?" he said, the stench of his breath making me gag. Now this guy is getting on my nerves. "Let go now, I don't want to have to hurt you", I said. at this, they all laughed, the blue haired one stepping even closer. Don't say I didn't warn you, I thought before grabbing his hand that was still firmly gripping my shoulder.

With my hand on his wrist, I spun so I was facing away from him. Then, twisting his wrist, I slung the blue haired man up and over my shoulder, into one of the other men. They hit the ground with a thud, the man left standing cursing as he charged toward me. I ran forward toward the brick wall across from me and jumped, kicking off the wall and turning my body while bringing my other foot up and out. My heel collided with the side of the man’s head, sending him hurling to the ground.

"I warned you", I said as I turned and walked out of the alley, onto the moonlit path that lead to the hotel I was staying at. Guys, they never listen.
