Chapter 1
I rolled into the school parking lot in my old beat up Honda Civic, and was immediately greeted by my best friend Lizzy.
"Hey girl", she greeted me. "Are you excited for the softball game today?"
"Of course. For once, this game might actually be a challenge. Livingston is the only school who's beaten us in the last four years." I said. Ever since my older sister Olivia became captain, and then me after her, our school's softball team had only lost one game- to Livingston.
"Is James planning on coming?" asked Lizzy.
"Yeah, we are going out for ice cream afterwards." James is my boyfriend of two years, ever since he moved here from Oklahoma.
"Awww!" Lizzy squealed. "You guys are so perfect for each other!"
Just then, the bell for first period rang, and we walked into the only class we had together, AP Chemistry. Our teacher, Mr. Rogers, was also the school softball coach.
"Okay class, today we are doing a poster on the Atomic Theory. You will be working with assigned partners. See the board behind me for who you will be working with."
I exchanged looks with Lizzy, hoping that Mr. Rogers had paired us together. I waited for the mad rush at the board to die down, then walked over to see who my partner was, hoping that it wouldn't be him.
I looked the list over for my name. I found it and followed the piece of paper with my finger to my parteners name. And the moment of truth... paired with Tyler Ferdinand.
I stared at the paper for a second, and then whipped my head around to stare at Lizzy. You have got to be kidding me i mouthed at her.
Sorry she mouthed back at me.
I felt a swish of the air behind my, and then heard a low, deep voice saying "Hello...Partner."
Things were about to get very interesting.
A/N: I know, I know. I said I would have this chapter up a lot sooner than I did. I'm so sorry guys. A lot of stuff has been happening, and I just haven't had the time. I should have more time now that school is out, and I'm planning on updating this one every Sunday.
