Do you ever just replay a certain moment in your head over and over again? It's like I don't want to forget it so it's all I think about.
I was putting on my graduation outfit. In the shower it was all I could think of. When I was doing my makeup. When I was doing my hair. His cheeky smile. God you sound stupid Emma. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I looked pretty. I grabbed my stuff and headed to my car. I just need this real graduation to be over.
No one is here for me. No one except my best friends family. I mean their family is like mine but I just wished that maybe, somehow my family would come. But obviously I was wrong. As I grabbed that stupid little piece of paper wrapped in the stupid piece of blue ribbon no one was their to cheer me on (except of course my best friends).
My best friends embraced me as I was the last of us to get the off white piece of paper. "Congratulations you guys, I love you" I said hugging them tighter. I wouldn't have made this year without them. Honestly. "We love you too" Carla said.
"You all look so beautiful!" Carla's mom cried. We smiled at her. "Thank you Sam," I said giving her a hug. "Now would you girls like to go for some lunch with us or by yourself?" We looked amongst each other and shrugged deciding to go by ourselves.
"So what happened to you at the party!" Carla asked with a smirk. "My mom happened." I said digging into my McNuggets. "Oh shit sorry!" She said the smirk left. "Well I was talking to Dylan and I don't know something sounded like you may have actually talked to Jackson." Bailey said. "Yeah and it wouldn't have happened if you didn't go back to party!" I said although I secretly loved that it happened. "Hey you told me to go." She said holding up her hands. We brushed the subject off. "Speaking of..." I herd Carla whisper. My heart rate quickened and I silently hoped that she wasn't talking about Jackson.
"Hey hot stuff," Kyle. I sighed. "Call her that again and I'll cut your balls off," I herd someone whisper to him. Jackson. My booth seat pushed me up signalling someone sat down next to me. I had stuffed my face with a couple chips and some chicken nugget. Shit! I had looked at Carla who was looking at me wide eyed and I mimicked her expression. We sort of all signalled a 'wtf' look to each other. I swallowed my food and took a sip of my drink and had the guts to look Jackson in the face.
I was met with his bright eyes and a smirk. I licked my bottom lip before I let a small "hi." Slip out of my mouth. He had his hands on the table and they were interlocked he just held himself very manly. "Still shy?" He asked. I rolled my eyes. "Um so we are going to go to the toilet." I herd Carla say as she nudged bailey out of the booth. My eyes widened in fear. "I need to go too!" I said she shot me a stern look and I got the message of what she was trying to do. I sighed as I watched Carla and bailey walk away with the two other boys that had came in with Jackson. I looked over and my eyes met with Dylan. He nodded at me and walked away towards the others that had took a seat at another booth.
"Um, what just happened?" He asked. "I really have no clue," I lied. "I think they want us to talk alone." I said quickly. I pulled my bottom lip in again. "Oh." Was all that came out of his mouth. I finished my last chicken nugget in silence and he got up. I looked at him and he just walked away. I mean sure. Don't say goodbye. I grabbed my purse and phone and shimmed out of the booth trying not to flash my bum to all the workers in McDonald's.
I walked over to the table everyone had sat at and Carla and bailey quickly got out of the booth. Jackson took a seat and glanced at me. His eye shifted somewhere else but done a double take. His eyes roamed every inch of my body. I grew extremely uncomfortable under his gaze and fixed my skirt to go down lower. I examined him more remembering he was in hospital last night.
I stepped closer to him examining his bruise and bruised lips which looked sore. Everyone watched me confused as did Jackson. I grabbed his face gently with my fingers. "Your looking a little better than last night." I said quietly. "How's your rib?" I whispered. "Broken." He said sarcastically. I laughed a little. "No shit." I said with a smile. I looked into his ocean like eyes. How does he do this? How does he make me feel like we are the only two in the room. I dragged my self back to reality and shyly backed away from him with red cheeks. Everyone looked at me in awe.
