The next morning Mokuba came in to check on Seto. Yami fell asleep in the chair with his arms crossed and his head down. He was so busy watching Seto he didn't even realize that he fell asleep. Mokuba had water and crackers ready, he knows what the next stage is, puking and headaches. He watched as Seto started waking up. He placed a hand on his head and say up.
"W-what happened ?" Seto asked Mokuba as he then saw Yami. He growled. "What's he doing here-" he began to cough as Mokuba handed him water. He drank some as Mokuba smiled softly.
"Remember you guys went to lunch yesterday ?" Mokuba asked Seto as he nodded. "Well...apparently you drank at the restaurant. You were a mess. Yami brought you home and then he watched over you. He wanted to make sure you were fine." He said as Seto looked at Yami.
'Maybe...he's not as cruel as he seems.' Seto thought as he then saw Mokuba handing him crackers. He took a bite from one and groaned from the now forming headache. Mokuba laid his brother back down.
"Rest. I'll go get you some more water and crackers." He said and left. After closing the door Yami woke up from that sound. He looked at Seto and smiled softly.
"How are you feeling ?" He asked as Seto looked down.
"Fine...thanks for making sure I was ok...I guess." He said as Yami smiled.
"It's my job to make sure my friends are safe." He said as Seto looked at him.
"How can you be so kind towards others ?" He asked as Yami looked down.
"Well...I hate conflict." He said and looked at Seto. "I told you that yesterday."
"Oh...I must have been drunk or whatever." He said and sat back up, he ignored the headache. Yami looked at the door to make sure Mokuba wasn't coming in yet.
"Listen...you might not remember this Seto...but you told me that the company is going down after...what happened the other day with you punching me." Yami mentioned as Seto's eyes widened. "We went house hunting after lunch and I got you a house. I paid for it. I don't need any money back." He said and smiled as Seto growled and grabbed him by the shirt.
"Don't you even think about telling anyone about my company business!" He yelled as Yami closed an eye and nodded looking at him. "It's my business and my business only! No one needs to worry. Everything will be under control!"
"Seto." Seto's heart dropped as he looked back at Mokuba. He stood at the doorway with water. "What's wrong with the company Seto..." Seto deep down felt like falling to his knees and crying...he wasn't sure what to do. How to handle anything anymore. His name will be ruined. His brother might hate him. Everyone probably hates him...he's known to be hated. Seto's mind was running wild. He looked at Mokuba and went to a knee.
"Come here Mokuba, there's something...I should tell you." He said as Yami got up and went towards the door.
"I'll let you two have privacy." He said and left the room. Yami walked down the hallway to the stairs so he can go downstairs to get some water himself. He saw bottles out so he took one. He then went back upstairs but took the wrong turn and ended up in Seto's bedroom. He blushed softly as he realized he went the wrong way. But Yami's mind became curious so he entered. He walked in and saw his room so neat and organized. Yami saw books after books. Then he got to the end of the bed, seeing a chest. He was about to open it, but he herd a door close. Yami excited Seto's bedroom and saw Mokuba in the hallway going downstairs and was wiping his eyes. Yami felt sad for them, but he did buy them a new house yesterday. He went back into the room where he was before and walked in to see Seto pacing. He was in deep thought.
"Did everything go ok Seto ?" Yami asked him as Seto continued to pace. Yami then stopped him by placing his hands on Seto's shoulders. And then Setos crazy, scared, and curious mind stopped running. He looked at Yami.
"What ?" Seto asked as Yami sighed.
"How did the talk go ?" He asked as Seto nodded.
"Fine..." He said and looked down. "He doesn't want to leave this company...and I don't want to either..." Seto said and looked out the window. "God what have I done!?" And that's it...a side of Seto we have never seen before. He fell to his knees and cried in his hands. Yami couldn't believe he is watching Seto cry. He went to his knees as well and hugged Seto as Seto hugged him back tight. He's not sure what to do in order to take care of Mokuba. Sure they have a lot of money...but be needs a job. They will actually be paying for bills. All his work is now a waste of time and energy. It was all for nothing. Seto held Yami closer to him and cried harder. Hating to face reality...and this is all his fault. And Seto does now know this. He sighed and pulled back from Yami and looked at him. "I know we have had our differences...but can you please help me..." Seto asked Yami as he nodded.
"Of course Kaiba." Yami said as Seto smiled softly and nodded.
"Thank you...can you show me and Mokuba where the house is that you bought ?" He asked as Yami nodded.
"Yes I can."
As they drove to the house Yami told Seto how to get there. And Mokuba was sitting in the backseat thinking. He's not sure how to feel about not running a company anymore...but what about school ? Mokuba's mouth shaped into a small smile. School! He can actually meet people and make friends! Something he knows his brother lacks. But...maybe Yami might be a key in now knowing that not everyone is bad or annoying. They can help you and be there for you. The car then pulled up into the driveway and Seto looked at the house. Mokuba's mouth was open as they stared at its beauty.
"It's...been so long..." Seto said as he was having flash backs of him as a small kid in a house with his parents. And one day...it all ended. That's how Mokuba and Seto were both sent to the orphanage and then they got adopted to the man that owned the previous name for Kaiba Corp, Gozaburo Kaiba. He can remember his mother being so sweet and kind to him.
"Seto ?" Seto looked back at Mokuba as he looked at him. "You zoned out again." Mokuba said as Seto looked at him.
"Sorry Mokuba. I was...just thinking." Seto said as he looked at the beautiful house. Once they parked Mokuba got out of the car and ran to the big front yard. Yami looper at Seto as Seto watched Mokuba. "I just realized...I've been keeping Mokuba from the real world...he's been so trapped in the business world...what kind of a bother am I ?" Seto asked and placed his hands over his eyes and leaned forward. "It's finally hitting me...I'm so selfish!"
"Kaiba!" Yami grabbed him by the shoulders as Seto looked at him. His hands off his face as Yami and Seto looked each other in the eyes. "This is your second chance...do what's right for him now..." He said as Seto nodded and looked down.
"Responsibility..." He said and looked at Yami who now is his best friend. One that is always there for him. That bought him a house with money he used from his bank account...that he barely has. Yami wants to be there for everyone in his life...even if they are like Seto...a selfish asshole who only cares about himself and his company. But that Seto no longer exists. No he doesn't. He's now a man who knows he has to be there for his younger brother, who has to get a job. Who has to be like everyone else in the world. Nothing will be handed to him anymore. No, nothing. He has to go out and get it. And Seto has to be strong for the both of them. Seto looked at his now best friend. "Thank you..." Seto smiled softly. "Thank you so much Yami..."
