                       Chapter 2

You sure you know how to use that?” James asked. “Good enough.” I tossed back sarcastically. “So why are you here?” “Is it a crime?” he said. “Could you give me a strait answer for once?” I asked, annoyed. “I’m part of The Army.” I kept my expression neutral, but inside, I screamed. Satan’s Army, the army led by Satan on his crusade against God. The reason for Armageddon. The reason I have to run. I was quiet for too long. “Now, drop your weapon.” I stood there for a second, and then ran. I just turned, and ran. I jumped over fallen trees and bushes. I was hoping that shocked him, since most people immediately froze, but apparently not. He began to chase after me. "This would be a lot easier if you just stopped running. Your wasting my time when I'm going to catch you eventually!" He yelled at me. "Like hell!" I yelled back. I jumped over a fallen tree as he started getting closer.

Crap. My legs and lungs burned but still I tried to run faster. I could hear him behind me. Suddenly the forest floor rushed up at me. Whoosh. All the air left my lungs. My back felt like it was gonna break.

“Get off me!” I yelled. “Well, I can’t have you running off again, now can I?” he whispered. I could feel his breath on my ear. ”Off! Or I swear to God...” “Uh uh uh. They’ll be no swearing to Him here. Now...What to do with you.” He said. “What’s your name?” “Charlotte.”I replied looking him in the eyes. “Your real name.” he said. I scoffed. “Like I’d tell you.” Suddenly, I heard feet romping through the underbrush. ”Whatcha got there, Ryder?” a manly voice asked. Of course he lied to me about his name. He wouldn’t tell me his real name, for fear that I knew Devilcraft. But the man had to be part of The Army. In there you had to give your real name.  I was suddenly pulled to my feet. I was looking a man. He looked about mid-thirties and a scruffy beard, like he hadn’t shaved in a few days. His eyes suddenly got wide. “You found her.” He said shocked. I bucked and kicked but James had strong arms. ”Who General?” Ryder asked. I heard the confusion in his voice. “Settle down, Evalyn.” I immediately stopped “How do you-?!?!?!” “Chuch.” He shushed me, like I was a disobedient dog. Just like that, I shut up. Damn Devilcraft, I thought. “Have you cuffed her yet?” “No. She tried to make a run for it.” Ryder replied. He clucked his tongue. ”Don’t try that again, Evalyn.” I spit on him. He slowly wiped it off, and chuckled. I heard a sharp crack, and pain blossomed in my cheek. “Do that again, and there’ll be far worse. Now cuff her Ryder,” he said, looking proud.

“Who are you?” he whispered in my ear. “I don’t know.” I replied.
