And, I have a spoiler alert...Katy's parents, that were captured, were not in the past few when Jake (i think) brought those three horses in. Sorry had to say. But they will come back and set Katy free. Do you think Katy, or Shawnee now, will stay with her parents and risk being captured again?

A/N: Look, I know it is short. I am running low on patience, so to calm your needs, here is part 8. IT IS NOT FINISHED! THIS IS ONLY A PREVIEW! I will put up the rest of the chapter soon. Not next week, but sometime this weekend of sometime tomorrow. So quit your bitching ( sorry to sound like this) but please just calm down. I am trying my best. I have an AP exam in a few weeks, finals and end of course tests are coming up, so I am studying and trying to do good on these tests. And another thing, if you don't like my little updates, letting you know why I am not updating, then just don't read my story anymore. Plain and simple. I am not going to just update once every month. No. I at least teel you all what is going on and why I have not updated yet. So, if you have a problem with this, then please just...go away. I'd rather loose a reader than be an author who neglects her audience.
Sorry for the rant, but hope you enjoy this little sneak peak at part eight.
After the whole blaming ordeal, John figured out that Sarah did do it and she got fired and sent to jail for lying and committing animal abuse. I am so glad I do not have to worry about her anymore! John also put a restraining order on her! Ha, sucker. That is what you get for messing with John and abusing me and my foal!
Luke is now around a year old; his training has been going nicely. John let me watch Luke’s training, and that boy learns quickly! On his down time, John has been training Splash and I for the upcoming Spring Classic show in April at the Kentucky Horse Park.
--Three Days Later—
Well John trailered Splash, Luke, and me to the Kentucky Horse Park yesterday. Oh my goodness, this place is amazing! Splash and I have our own pasture to be in while this thing goes on. This show is one of the longest that we will ever show; it is about four to five days long! It consists of show jumping one day, dressage another, cross country the third day, showmanship the fourth, and western pleasure the fifth. Talk about busy!
The good thing is Splash and I will be showing pretty much at the same time, or well one right next to the other. So when I am in the ring, Splash will be out waiting, tacked and everything, with Emma by the starting gate. And then I will be given to Emma as Splash goes to do his rounds. Thankfully, Splash and I will be able to go back to the barn together and then get turned out with Luke. Maybe if I throw a fit then John will bring Luke with us to the arenas…hum I think that might be possible.
Right now, Splash, Luke, and I are in our stalls, listening to John play the harmonica.
“John, they are letting all riders and trainers view courses and get copies of the courses for the five day event. I got the copies of the courses, but I did not yet walk them. I figured you would want to as well. No horses are allowed to see the course, but I figured if you just read the course then I bet Splash and Shawn will figure it out.” Emma states as she hands a copy of the course to John then petting my nose.
“Thanks Emma, I will go walk the course in a few moments,” He states as he scans the courses. “I just finished unpacking everything into the tack stall. I went ahead and ordered two empty stalls that way we could stay here over night with the horses in case anything happens.”
“Alright, well I am going to groom Splash and Shawn then probably turn them out with Luke to the pasture. No sense in leaving them inside.” She states as she grabs a grooming kit and Splash’s halter.
“Sounds good, I will be back in a few. Be good, Shawn.” He states, looking at me and pointing accusingly.
I flick one ear forward and huff, acknowledging his point. He chuckles and walks off, leaving Emma, Splash, me, and Luke together. Emma opens Splash’s stall door, and walks in. She halters him, and brings him out into the aisle and grooms him. I think she knows what to do, being last time she groomed Splash in his stall Luke got a bit over dramatic.
‘Well, tomorrow starts the big day! Are you ready, sweetheart?’ Splash asks me.
‘Yeah, pretty much as I will ever be, I guess. I just cannot believe this event is five days long.’
‘True, I just hope Luke does not get too bored on us.’
‘Wait, I heard my name! What’s going on?’ Luke chimes in, returning home from la-la land.
‘Nothing sweetie, daddy and I are just talking. Are you excited to be here?’
‘Yes! Yes, oh yes! This place is so cool! I wish we could come here more often!’
Splash chuckles which turns out to be a nicker; ‘Alright son, calm down.’
‘Well, I guess since she is done grooming me, I will talk to Luke about his training and what to expect pretty soon.’
Emma takes Splash back in his stall and she comes over to me. She opens my stall door, halters me then leads me out to the aisle. She clips the crossties to my halter before throwing the lead rope over my neck. She curries me and brushes me down before picking my feet. She pats my neck, grabs Splash and Luke, unclips me from the crossties, and leads all of us out to the pasture we have reserved especially for us.
4/24/2014:: I am deleting all of the little side notes I posted, trying to clean stuff up a bit.
