Oh. No. She. Didn't. Am I hard of hearing, or did I just hear my mother say, "You have to  break up with your boyfriend." And did I also just see her run up the stairs?!

Hmmph

And she says she's old.

Anyways, I followed my mom up the stairs and I asked, "Why?"

"Because... He's a distraction."

"I don't buy that."

My mom whirled on me. "You want to know why? Because if you guys were to be together, you would lose control over your power. You would destroy his soul, and he would be a slave. Forever. That's what happened to your father. Okay?!"

I gasped. "But I never knew I had that power, and it was never an  issue before today."

"That's because the amulet is now linked to you."

I stared at her. Why me?! And how was I supposed to tell Shu? I went down the stairs where Bella was. I took out my bey, Midnight Miracle, (God, I'm so bad at Bey names. Please feel free to change the name.)  She looked at me. "Wanna battle?"
I smiled at her. "You get me."

We went down to  the bey stadium. I got my launcher ready and she got her bey ready too. My bey was an attack type, so there  was an advantage. After all her bey is a stamina type. I stared at her bey and looked at  her launcher. 'She's gonna go for the center.' I thought. I was gonna have to go for an angled launch.

"Let it rip!!"

Bella's pov.

At the last  possible second, I turned my launcher up. Kendall's eyes widened, but it was to late. We launched our bey's. I saw Kendall was doing an angle launch and my bey followed her. Kendall stared at her bey expectantly, like she had known what was going to happen. "Now Miracle!!"

Her bey then changed trajectory, and was suddenly behind me, she was speeding up, quick. "Knock it out of there, Miracle." Kendall's aura was deep blue.

"Hold on, Simmer."

I gasped with surprise, as Simmering Sunlite, was knocked out of the arena, and burst.
Kendall laughed and stared at me. "That was a great battle."

But I think we were thinking the same thing.

"How did you do that?!"
