Stepping out I grabbed my bag and slid it up my arm to sit on my elbow. I heard everything stop, it suddenly became silent. My 5 brothers walked over to me and we started climbing the steps to the entrance, that's when I heard the whispers start. Zach and Ryan stood either side of me whilst
my other 3 sibling strolled along behind us, but all I could focus on were the looks and whispers directed at us.
"Who are the 3 boys at the back?"
"They look the same as Ryan and Zach."
But only a few mattered to me, such as, "Who's that slut at the front?"
"She's probably a whore."
They stung, badly. Xax must have noticed this, because he grabbed my waist and pulled me back towards his chest. He wrapped one of his muscular arms around my shoulders protectively and whispered in my ear just loud enough that I could hear "Ignore them, they're just jealous of how pretty you are." He then turned to my other two brothers and told them to take us to the reception to get our schedules.
After we had collected our schedules, maps and starter packs Zach and Ryan lead us the football pitch. We walked to the centre where their group obviously hung out. I could see jocks, cheerleaders and you're stereotypical rich kid populars. The two boys went over to greet them while me and the others hung back a little bit. I saw one of the group look our way before saying something to the group. Ryan looked our way, as did everyone else. Then as if remembering something he said, "Oh yeah, guys meet my brothers," he pointed to them one by one, "that's Xav. He's supposed to be in our year but got held back. And that's Aries he's gonna be in our year, and finally there's Ciaran, he's a junior but might as well be a senior with his football and academic skills." The three boys around me waved awkwardly and said a few 'hi's'. I just stood there looking around nervously. "Who's she?" one of the cheerleaders asked. I could hear the pure hatred in her voice, and that is when everyone's eyes were turned to be trained on me. I heard a couple of wolf whistles, and 'She's hot's,' but I looked down at the floor because I knew they were just mocking me. This is when Zach spoke up, " She, is our sister, Arianna." he put emphasis on the words, she and sister. I looked up to see a lot of dropped jaws.
Someone was barging through the small crowd of people. He stood at the front looking me up and down. "Princess, pleasure to see you again."
"Again?" I questioned confused.
"Yeah, we met at the party. You haven't forgotten me already have you? I hoped to leave a better impression than that." he winked at me when he had finish and smirked. Ugh, I remember him, unfortunately, he was the arrogant pig I met in my room. Before I could reply to this comment Xav pushed me behind him and stood in front of me protectively. "Wait you're the creep from the kitchen who tried to force himself on her?" he remarked through clenched teeth, his temper rising quickly.
"Nope," he replied calmly, popping the 'p'. "we met in the bedroom." he looked over my brothers shoulder, I knew his next comment was directed at me, "How's your arm by the way?" he asked looking towards my wrist covered by the oversized sweater. This is when I began to panic, nobody knows about this.
"I-I-I don't know what you're talking about!" I stammered trying to deny any knowledge of the subject. He wasn't buying it. He opened his mouth to say something again but luckily the bell cut him off. I walked away quickly, thankful to have avoided that confrontation.
Lessons that day were really boring so fat and I was only on period 3. One period left before lunch yay. The bell began to ring and I shoved all of my belongings into my bag and walked out with Xav. Looking at my schedule I had social studies next in G10. Walking there was eventful. Some jocks tripped up this guy who looked like a full on nerd and he dropped his books everywhere. I felt really sorry for him because I knew what it was like so I quickly bent over and passed him all of the books near me and carried on as if nothing had happened. Everyone had already gone into the classroom and the teacher was writing on the board.
We rushed in and apologised for being late. She made a couple of sarcastic comments and told us where to sit down. I was sat next to some guy called Chase? We scampered towards them. I put my bag on the floor by my desk and was just about to get out from underneath it when I heard a, "So Princess I heard you helped that nerd in the hallway?" this caused me to jolt my head and smash it on the table above me. As I yelped I heard a soft chuckle. That was it. When I was sat up again I turned to face him again. "Yep I did help that 'guy' because I know what it feel like and what you do is horrible!" I retorted snappily. He sighed before speaking again. "I'm pretty sure you don't know what it like. And you were helping more than one person, the jocks enjoyed you're 'helping' too," I gave him a questioning look. He rolled his eyes and continued, "they got a better view of that fine ass!" he winked after. I just chose to ignore his lat comment and gesture and focused on what the teacher was saying at the front of the class.
After a few whole minutes of him letting me concentrate he spoke, again, "So, you never answered my question earlier, how's your arm?" I froze at the mention of this mornings topic.i really thought he had either forgotten about it or would drop it.
"I don't know what your talking about!" I stated adamantly. But this just caused him to grab my arm and pull it under the table. I winced and clenched my teeth at his grip. He proceeded to roll my sleeve up to my elbow. Along my lower arm were lines, some old and scarred white, and others fresh and scanned. He pointed at a couple of the more recent marks, and said, "I meant, this." And he then looked into my eyes behind started blurring and when I felt something drip onto my arm was when I realised I was crying. I quickly pulled my sleeve down and wiped my cheeks. "Fuck off, and mind your own buisness, you don't know anything about me and you never will. You're just a self-obsessed egotistical jerk. I expect your life is perfect and your just daddy's little rich boy. News flash not everyone's lives are as perfect as yours!" I snapped ranting at him to let out all of my anger and fury. He gave me a shocked look, followed by a sad smile and a cheesy, "Well you don't know me either then."
I ignored him for the rest of the lesson, wen when we had to do pair work. When the bell rang I couldn't leave fast enough. Me and Xav left, found Zach and Ryan and went to eat on the field after getting lunch from the cafeteria. I then remembered this I where Chase sits. I made up an excuse saying I was going to get a drink and left after reassuring them if be fine by myself a few times. I headed in the direction of the toilets before slamming into what felt like a brick wall and fell on my arse. I sighed picking myself up, but as I started walking away I felt a hand wrap around the top of my arm and was spun around to see none other than... Chase.
