Chapter 6

Okay first off I apologize for the long ass wait for this but I got super down after my exams and I only got out of that rut around a week or so ago but I'm feeling up to writing again now. Also I want to thank you all for over 2k reads because that is completely insane and I'm glad that you took the time to read this silly little fanfic!!

Y/N POV

      Slumping down onto my bed I sighed, worst day ever, hearing a knock on my door I sit up. Stiles was leaning on the door frame, phone in hand typing.  Without looking up Stiles spoke as if I wasn't there, "Liam's coming to the pack meeting tonight." , shutting off his phone he sat by me on my bed. I buried my head in my pillow, groaning and muttering about not wanting to go, Stiles put a hand over my face. "Listen y/n/n, you can't ignore him forever and he already knows what you are. You need to learn to be around him, you will see each other in school, you're both on the lacrosse team and Scott and Derek plan to teach you together, well once we get Derek back."  Realizing that he was right, I shuffled over pulling him to lie down and hid my face in his chest, letting out a smothered "Fine whatever." as he wrapped his arms around me, "C'mon, some of the guys are already there."

*Pack meeting in Derek's loft*

Although Derek was gone and Peter had been acting suspicious lately so was not told about the meeting, the loft was the only secure place to hold meetings where we wouldn't be interrupted or discovered. Stiles,Malia, Lydia and I were waiting on the others to arrive, lightly discussing how to find Derek believing him to be in Mexico. Discussion was cut short as Scott, Kira and Liam arrived and we got down to business, planning a way to get Derek back with as little danger and as few problems as possible. 

It was decided that first thing the next morning, we'd leave for Mexico to get Derek back from the Calaveras hunters. After around an hour and a half, most of the pack had left but Scott, Stiles, Liam and I remained so Scott could teach us a bit more before we left the next morning.

Scott POV

I was nervous, I had barely any idea what I was doing. Thinking of what Derek did to teach me, I began working with Liam and y/n with Stiles' help. 

"For Derek, it was a matter of controlling his anger, but for me I had to control my heart rate. The trigger is different for every wolf but each is controllable." My two betas watched me closely as I paced in front of them. "You must find an anchor, if you don't have one then you have to be your own anchor but it is harder to control. Y/n you know your anchor is Stiles already, so Liam I'm going to focus on you first."  Y/n and Stiles moved out to the side doing basic combat training as I began to work with Liam. 

 "Okay, try to think of someone that you have a deep emotional connection with. Someone that you know would be strong enough to keep you grounded, it's these connections that keep the human side of us alive." I noticed Liam glance to y/n, sighing I continued, "We all know you like her but it's not strong enough what about Mason? He's your best friend." 

Liam remained solemn but he nodded, "I'll try, what now. How do we know if it works?" He stood up, ready for whatever teaching he would have. I placed a hand on his shoulder and revealed my eyes, "Now we need to get your heart rate up so you learn to control it." He smiled, "Great, so we exercise right?" At this, I heard Stiles let out a muffled laugh he wandered over and grinned at Liam, shaking his head as he spoke. "Yeah, not exactly buddy."  His faced scrunched in confusion "Wait what?". 

Y/N POV

I butted in from across the room, "He's going to pretty much beat you up wolf baby, it's how Scott kinda learnt, don't worry did it to me too. If you don't shift, then he won't do it again."  

Stiles took my hand and pulled me over towards Scott who slung his arm around my shoulder then smiled at Liam. "Oh, I'm not going to beat you, Y/N is." I pulled away immediately shocked, "What? Why me? You're the damn Alpha, you teach him. I'm barely in control of myself Scott!" 

Scott pulled me aside and explained that yeah I might not be in control of myself yet but I have Stiles plus this way we can both learn simultaneously. Scott had time pressure, it was a risk to go to Mexico and fight with two untrained, vulnerable betas. He had to teach us both as much as he could before we left the next morning. Before walking back towards Liam and Stiles, Scott leaned over to my ear whispering, "I'm getting you close to Liam too, you forget that we know you like him." I simply shrugged him off and rejoined my brother. 

Standing opposite Liam, I took a deep breath, okay just don't shift. I thought of Stiles and threw a punch at Liam which he caught effortlessly, pushing me back. Recovering quickly, I ran towards him but at the last second I kicked out at his legs and he fell to the floor, earning a slight growl from the boy. Smirking, I had a new found confidence, I picked him up off the floor and shoved him hard into a pillar repeatedly, stepping back from him I saw that he had shifted. He came at me, I shifted, of my own accord, I had successfully controlled my shift. I was overcome with pride and became distracted, forgetting about Liam I managed to shift back to human. I was suddenly thrown to the floor the shock of the impact causing me to shift to wolf form due to a sudden increase in heart rate , Liam hovered over me, growling and landing several punches to my head as I tried to get him off of me. His weight was ripped off of me and Liam was soon replaced by Stiles who caused me to shift back to human. He was holding me and talking to me softly as I caught my breath. Despite Stiles' voice I focused on Liam's wild actions and Scott's attempts to calm him to no avail but I remembered what worked for Isaac. "Scott! His name, call his name, it worked with Isaac!"  

Scott flashed his eyes red, pushing Liam back against the wall, "LIAM!". Immediately the young beta cowered, shifting into the scared kid that he truly was. Scott embraced him in attempts to calm him, "Okay so Mason wasn't strong enough." Stiles hugged me, "You're a genius." he chuckled. Glaring at Liam, Stiles mood had changed "You could have seriously hurt her! Scott, she's not doing that again, not until HE has some control." Elbowing my brother, Stiles and I both rose to our feet, moving to the two boys but Scott yanked him from me and began to talk in hushed voices, leaving me with Liam. 

Liam POV

Oh god, I felt so bad, I just attacked her. The girl I like and what do I do, attack her. Good one Liam. Of course, those two had to leave me with her. I stared at my feet thinking of what to say as she walked over but I looked up when she reached me.

"So, um, I am so sorry about going at you like that. I couldn't control it." She smiled and to my surprise she pulled me in for a hug and then released me but I wish she hadn't. "Hey, don't worry about it, you're still learning. Hell, I'm still learning." 

Stroking the back of my neck, I smiled. "Yeah, but you shifted then shifted straight back, that means you controlled it, right?" She bit her lip, damn don't do that, and her cheeks turned a subtle red. "Yeah, I think so. I'll have to talk to Scott." 

My smile, stretched to my ears as I looked into her y/e/c eyes, "That's great, awesome actually! Well done" Y/n muttered a small 'thank you', I could tell she was going to say more but Stiles' voice rang through the room, calling her as they were heading home. Her head turned to him, hair falling over her shoulder before returning to its original position as she faced me again. "Thanks Liam. Text me, yeah?" almost beaming as she rose on her tip toes and placed a light kiss on my cheek. And she was gone before I had even comprehended what had just happened. She kissed me, well on my cheek, but still she kissed me. Y/n Y/l/n kissed me. 

Hey guys, I hope you enjoy this chapter, it's a bit longer than the others!! But anyway, some progress between Liam and you, a little bit of Alpha Scott and protective brother Stiles!!
