Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Stars

Chapter 3

The next day as the sun rose, Zero stirred and woke only to find Skittle already awake and preparing for the trip. "You're up already...?" Zero asked, mildly confused.

"Oh, Zero," Skittle said, looking at Zero. She giggled a little as she said, "Yeah. I woke up just as the sun began to rise and I couldn't fall back asleep because of the excitement that I'm going to finally be able to see the world..." She smiled warmly at him, "And it's all thanks to you."

Zero blushed lightly, his golden fur hiding it fairly well, "W-well I'm happy to hear that..."

Skittle giggled once again, "Right. Anyway, I looked into the Guild and it isn't that far from here. We don't even have to go into a Dungeon to get there. If we leave soon, we may have time to go into a Dungeon after we join."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Zero asked as he got up, "Let's get going." Skittle nodded and the two darted out of the hut and to the entrance of the village before heading out to the Guild itself. Soon, they reached a rather big building with a sign in front of it and stopped in front of it, looking around before Skittle went up to the sign.

"Crystal Guild..." She said, "Well, we're here..." She looked at Zero, "Shall we go in?"

Zero nodded, "Yeah. You nervous?"

Skittle shook her head and smiled, "No, I've got you so I have no need to be." Zero blushed and the duo entered the Guild, walking into a large room with two boards on either side of the entrance. Skittle looked around and smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement, "Wow~! It's so big! And there's so many Pokémon!"

"Maybe one of them knows where we can find the Guildmaster," Zero said, looking around as well.

Skittle nodded and continued to look around for a Pokémon that they could talk to, soon spotting a Flareon."Excuse me miss," Skittle said as she walked up to the Flareon, "Do you know where to find the Guildmaster?"

The Flareon turned and looked at Skittle and Zero, "Oh, that would be me. My name's Krystal."

"O-oh...." Skittle said, "I see..."

Krystal smiled, "No need to be nervous little one. Now then, what would two young Pokémon like you two be doing here of all places?"

"We want to join the Guild," Skittle said, "That way we can become an Exploration Team."

"Oh?" Krystal asked, "Why's that? What drives you to become an Exploration Team?"

"Well..." Skittle said, "It's always been my dream... Seeing new places, exploring the world, and helping other Pokémon... But most of all, I want to be like my parents... Even though they aren't always around, they're the best out there... They're the main reason I want to be apart of one."

Krystal nodded and looked at Zero, "What about you?"

"Me?" Zero asked, tilting his head a bit. He then thought about it before saying, "Well... I guess it's because of the adventure that comes from going into the Mystery Dungeons... I mean, I want to help others, don't get me wrong, but it's just so much fun exploring Dungeons that I figured it'd be fun to be a part of an Exploration Team with Skittle..."

Krystal giggled and nodded, "Both very valid reasons to become an Exploration Team. And good ones, I am surprised, however, that neither of you said you want to be an Exploration Team to uncover lost treasure."

"Isn't that selfish to want to be apart of one because of that?" Skittle asked.

"Yes and no," Krystal said, "Sometimes lost treasure can be a part of history, lost to time, waiting be uncovered so we Pokémon of the present can learn from it. That's why some Pokémon explore old ruins, to find treasure like that and learn about the ruins themselves. However, if you were one to keep treasure of that kind all for yourself, then it would be. It all depends on the Pokémon. And you two seem like very good Pokémon, kind hearted at that. Come on then, let's get your team registered." She then turned and began walking to her room, Skittle and Zero following with wide grins on their faces. Soon enough, they reached the room and entered before Krystal went to the center of the room and turned to face Skittle and Zero, "First things first," Krystal said, "What will be you team's name?"
