next day
the school day had come to an end
and millie was currently strutting down the parking lot, towards the curly haired boy leaning against his car
smirking and smiling at the looks of adoration pointed in her direction
finn will act like that, just you wait millie, she thought
"hey wolfhard, you ready?" millie asked sweetly
"ready as ill ever be" finn mumbled in reply, whilst opening the car door for millie
he may not like millie, but still chooses to act polite
"why finnie! such a gentleman!" millie exclaimed, dramatically wiping her forehead
finn just chuckled and rolled his eyes while shutting the door, earning a giggle from millie in response
after two minutes of driving, millies boredom got the best of her
"this is boring, put on a song"
"i don't think you'd like my music"
"try me wolfhard"
finn plugged in his phone to the aux cord, shuffling his music on his "happy" playlist
"I was born not breathing, since ive woke up every day
oh and i can't believe it, the victims of the USA"
millie quickly caught on to the song, immediately singing along
" they all keep talking but got nothing to say" millie sang along
finn looked over at her, confusion and a hint of admiration in eyes shining through
"you know this song?"
"why of course! only my favorite twin peaks song, now hush and sing with me!" millie replied
"flavor your heart and your soul" sang millie and finn
finn decided to be daring, and stuck his head out the window yelling,
"FLAVOR YOUR HEART AND YOUR SOULLLLL"
"finn wolfhard! get your ass back in the car!" millie yelled laughing
finn stuck his head back in, giggling as his curls spread wildly across his face

millie looked at him in pure "fake" admiration
(mhm fake yeah sure mills)
she reached over her seat and ran her fingers through his curls attempting to fix them
finns breathing hitched, secretly loving the feeling, but never admitting it
finn gave her a nice, genuine smile as they arrived at his house,
millie smiling back, happy he wasn't being a hardass for once

finn laid out their history books, ready to begin the lesson
"alright so ponce de leon arrived in the U.S in-
finn was cut off by the loud sound of millie texting
he scooted closer, quickly snatching her phone away
"hey! give that back!" millie yelled reaching for the phone
finn moved his face right in front of hers, placed some of her hair behind her ear and whispered
"you'll get it back when we're done"
now it was millies turn for her breathe to hitch
"fine, but you'll have to catch me first!" millie shouted, bolting out of his room
finn quickly ran after her as fast as he could
millie stood texting, thinking he was nowhere in sight,
but boy was she wrong
she was so distracted, she didn't notice finn standing right in front of her
he grabbed her waist and picked her up,
millie immediately wrapping her legs around his torso, while bursting into a fit of squeals giggles
and ran up the stairs with her, back into his room
he put her down, while one hand snatched her phone, and the other remained with a firm grip on her waist
he whispered in a low, husky voice
"i said, you'll get it back when we're finished"
then removing his hand and sitting back down, flipping through history book pages
millie stared at him dumbfounded, still contemplating what had just happened, giving the boy pure heart eyes, then sat back down to study (aw lil mills is in love)

time skip
finn walked millie out of his house, shutting the door behind him
"thanks for the help finn", millie murmured
"no problem, you better not disappoint me mills"
millies heart fluttered at the nickname, but she shoved the feeling away
" i won't, promise"
millie slowly walked up to him, leaning up and kissing his freckled cheek
pulling away slowly, letting it linger
"night finnie" she whispered, walking away with a slight sway in her hips
finn watched her walk away, looking at her with love in his eyes, completely forgetting about his grudge her
awww, they're just the cutest
