Chibs Telford - Generations

Chibs looked at you. You didn’t know he was looking at you because of how busy you were playing Co-op of COD with Juice.

Chibs had acquired feelings for you over the last couple of months. They were slow to start, but after knowing you your whole life he finally realized how he felt about you.

“You gonna cover me or am I gonna die again!?”

You shouted at Juice, who seemed more in tune with the game after that. Gemma, who was sitting next to Chibs just chuckled while taking a drag of her cigarette.

“Hard to believe that my baby girl can kick butt at those games… at least from what I can tell.”

Gemma chuckled. She was right, it was people like her and Chibs that never really grew up with those systems and games. They were both the older generations that grew up in a war stricken world, a harsher world than now.

This dawned on Chibs greatly. He realized just how big of an age gap there truly was between the two of you. He seen it clearly now as you and Juice both chuckled and yelled in anger at the TV as the two of you bonded.

He sighed deeply, wanting to be the one who was able to bond with her like that but was unable due to the fact he knew nothing about the things she knew.

He wanted to be closer to her and hopefully have her have the same feelings for him that he held for her.

But she was Gemma’s daughter and was so much younger than him, half his age at least.

He figured that she would never fall for someone who was a generation apart from one another and that’s why he just continued to sit there and watch as she and Juice bonded over something that they both grew up with –

In their shared generation.
