Bring in the new year
with a trudge of a step
and a weight on my heart
At first the tears fell freely
like a heavy rain storm
but as the lump in my throat grew
and the tears refused to fall
I began to wonder
Why am I here at all?
This man was my life line
he kept me around
No matter my mistakes
he never let me drown
The hole in my heart
calls and calls for him
Singing a mealody
of a shattered heart
begging to rejoin him
once again
