Laughter fills the room
as memories are shared
though between each story
comes a pause
where every heart aches
and heads are bowed
trying to push back tears
Shaky hands grip
Styrofoam cups of coffee
as we feel the emptiness of your chairYour laughter reached the heavens
your words always what we needed to hear
But now we sit here and wonder
"What would James do if he were here?"Not only have I lost my dad
But my best friend in the process.
There won't ever be another man
that holds my heart like him.
The lessons that he taught me
only a wise man could know
Though he passed them out freely
so that others could growHe wasn't a saint
or a man without faults
but his unconditional love
broke down every wallHis selflessness is something
rarely to be seen
and he encouraged everyone
to pursue their dreams
Styrofoam cups of coffee
held in shaky hands
As tears form rivers down our cheeks
But now we will sit here
And reminisce of times not long ago
