You taught me love
You taught me to care
You taught me to share
Though you are gone
you told me not to despair
This is easier said than done
for you were my lifeline
my light in the dark
and now that you're not longer here
the light is extinguished
and the line is cut
I'm stumbling through the dark
falling and scraping my knees
I'm wondering if I had played my part
in trying to save you
"What ifs" plague my mind
wondering what I had done wrong
But for now I will pace
along my broken heart
and wonder if
there will ever be a new start
