"Kade?" I whisper entering his room. He turns around and the first thing I notice is how puffy and red his eyes are. I frown at the sight and walk over to him. I sit down next to him slowly and lean on his shoulder. "It's hard." He whispers. I look up at him sadly
"It's hard realizing that she's gone. I feel like what I did when you were in that accident. I feel broken." He said. I nod wrapping my arm around his waist. "We gotta be strong for Bryce." I tell him. "I can't imagine what he's going through. She was his other half." He said. "Losing a twins hard. Me and Jason went through it. Bryce is gonna be okay." I told him grabbing his hand.
"You had a twin?" He asks wiping his eyes. "Yea. It was Maria. We were just turning 13 when she drowned in our pool because neither of us knew how to swim at the time but she loved water." I explained sadly "Woah. Why'd Ethan say that one day "I can't lose you like Maria" he's not related to you?" Kade asked confused.
I smiled "Maria and Ethan were a thing. Cutest couple ever. Neither were clingy but they still loved each other." I told him. "That's adorable. Is that why he's so protective of you?" He asks. I nod "A week after everyone was getting better he started coming over and we'd hang out. We later found out he did it because of how much I remind him of Maria. He didn't wanna let her down." I explained
"You know I missed this. How when we were dating we'd just go outside or into one of our rooms and talk about whatever." Kade said looking at me. "I miss it too." I whisper looking into his eyes. We both stop talking staring into each other's eyes. Pretty soon his eyes flicker to my eyes.
