Chapter 7- Brother from another mother and sister from another mister

Poppys POV:

I woke up to someone shaking me.

"W-what?" I whispered, rubbing my eyes and stretching.

"Your Mom has told me to take you home as we have school tomorrow" Lorina whispered back.

"What time is it?" I questioned.

"8:24" She replied.

"I can't go home, I have to stay with Liam." I frowned. She sent me a tired smile and was about to respond when the door opened exposing light into the room. There was only a lamp on so it was quite dark.

Mom walked through the door and sat on the other side of the bed holding a coffee in her hands.

"Poppy, Liam might not wake up for weeks, but if he does when you are at school or home I will ring you and tell you. Besides you can always see him after school, ok?" She told me.

I just nodded and said "Make sure you don't get too tired and I will bring you some clean clothes tomorrow before school, if you want?"

"Ok... Your father is going home with you for tonight to make sure you will be ok and Lorina said she will stay with you tonight."

I turned to Lorina and she nodded at me.

"Ok, make sure to call me if anything happens or changes"

"I will do, night sweetie" She smiled, warmly but her smile didn't reach her eyes as she glanced at Liam." Oh, and be safe, honey"

"Ok Mom, night and you too." I kissed her cheek and started walking out the room.

"Bye Mrs. Light" Lorina said and shuffled after me, clearly tired.

"Bye Lorina"

We walked out the hospital and to Lorinas car. She unlocked the car and we both got in. She immediatly turned the engine on and the heater and turned it on full blast.

"Thankyou, for staying with me today" I smiled at her, as I fastened my seatbelt.

"I will always be there for you and Liam. Liam is like my brother from another mother, and you are my sister from another mister." She grinned.

She put the car in reverse and backed out of the parking spot, almost running a man in his late 30s over.

We drove back to my house.

I expected there to be a crime scene as they were trying to identify the person who did all this to my brother.

But it looked normal.

Mine and my dads cars were parked in the driveway and Lorina parked her car next to mine.

I grabbed my handbag and my phone and Lorina grabbed hers. I opened the front door and shouted into the silent air.

"Dad?!"

He poked his head out from behind his office door and nodded.

"I was just wondering if you were here" I said.

He nodded and closed the door again. I sighed and Lorina made her way upstairs and I followed her.

"Will your Mom not wonder where you are?" I asked as I walked into my closet and grabbed her and myself a pair of pyjamas.

" Thanks and I called her at the hospital and she said it is alright." She walked into the bathroom and shut the door. I changed into my pyjamas and I put my phone on charge when Lorina walked out the bathroom.

"Night, I will see you in the morning, ok?" She said as she headed towards the door of my room. She has stayed here that many times that she knew where to go.

"Night" I said, as she walked out of the room and shut the door, gently behind her.

I sighed in tiredness and headed towards the bathroom.

After I finished my business and brushed my teeth, I grabbed a hair tie and put my hair in a messy bun.

I turned on my lamp then turned off my light. I climbed into bed then scrolled through Instagram and facebook for a bit. I eventually put my phone on my bedside table after setting my alarm an hour early for tomorrow and switched my lamp off.

I thought about my brother in the hospital in a coma, my Mom who was by his side making sure he was alright.

I finally drifted off into a land where I felt no pain.
