It was a day just like any other. I swung across the city with my webbing and landed atop a random building just in time to watch the sun set. I took off my mask. I was tired, so very tired. I've been grieving way too much over Gwen's death and I've just continued to fall down this pit of deep despair. I feel so alone. The other part of my mind that hasn't been corrupted and is actually rational is telling me I shouldn't give up. How can I? This city still needs saving, without me it couldn't fend for itself, not even if it wanted to. Like yeah, sure there are the avengers and doctor strange but they're busy doing other things, on other planets. I feel like I need someone to keep me afloat even though I should be dependent on myself. Ugh.
I changed in the alleyway and walked towards our...erhm my favorite coffee shop. My thoughts got the best of me and I ended up crashing into someone before I even had time to open the door. "Shit, I am so sorry." Whoa, she's really pretty "Don't worry about it tiger." She said, nonchalantly flipping her hair back. She was about to put her hand on the door knob when I jumped in and opened it for her. "Oh! You didn't have to do that." She chuckled and put her hand on her chin "Hey, I am a gentleman. It's my duty to be of service to a beautiful young woman such as yourself." Oops, did I just say that out loud? She blushed and walked inside
I stooped into the booth farthest in the back, since I just completely embarrassed myself, more than once. I ducked down behind a menu and saw her coming through my peripheral.
"Mind if I sit here, tiger?"
"No no...not at all." I managed to stutter. How come she wants to sit with me? I just made a fool out of myself...
"Do you always come here?" She asked, taking a sip of her latte
"I do actually, usually when I just want to escape from everything." I laughed, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Oh." She put her latte down
"What's the matter?" I could tell she wanted to reach out and touch me
"Erhm...."
"I'm sorry that's probably none of my business, we've only just met." She looked down at her latte, blushing fervently
"It's okay. It's a lot of things actually. But I'd feel much more comfortable if we talked about it somewhere else? If that's okay with you?"
"Definitely tiger" she smiled and we walked to my aunt may's house
