Mom helped me get ready for the dance tonight, and Don and Blitz came to pick me up. I walked down the stairs to use; maybe I was wrong about Nik after all.

Don and Blitz both whistle as Don said, "holy Christmas, you are gorgeous!"

"Beautiful," Blitz added.

"Thank you. You both look pretty handsome yourselves," I said to them, causing them to both blush. Well, that's a new one.

"Shall we m'lady," Don said, holding out his arm. I took his arm, "we shall."

"Hey," Blitz said, holding out his arm and I looped it around his.

My dad was waiting for us to take us to the dance. There was no way I was letting those two drives. I want to live to make it to the dance.

Dad pulled up, and we got out and headed inside. We walked in, and the dance was in full swing. I looked around, admiring the decorations, and listening to music.

Don tapped Blitz and pointed to something, and he nodded. When I turned to look, he took his hand and ran it through his hair. I turned back to the dance floor, and they both nodded.

"Let's dance," Don said as he grabbed my hand and dragged me to the dance floor causing me to trip over my feet.

As we hit the dance floor, he started doing this crazy move flinging me around the dance floor. The friend who is a dancer has some exciting steps.

Blitz watch and when he saw Jenny heading to the bathroom, he turned and followed her. As soon as she went inside, he grabbed a chair and shoved it under the door handle trapping her inside. Then he ran back to where he was.

He waved to Don and gave him the thumbs up. Don nodded and then twirled me around over and over, then spun me out, causing me to fly across the dance floor in a circle. I came to an abrupt stop hitting something or should I say, someone.

They grabbed me, "Mary?"

"Whoa," I said, trying to get the room to stop spinning. Once it finishes, I straightened up and looked at him. "Sorry. I have a crazy dance partner."

"No worries. Would you like to dance?"

"What about your date?"

"I don't know where she went. She went to the bathroom and hasn't returned. So, would you?"

"Sure."

He took my hand and led me onto the dance floor. He took my hand and placed it on his shoulder, then he took my other hand in his, moving his free hand to my lower back. Then we danced, and the entire time he looked into my eyes as we glided across the floor.

It felt like we were floating on air as we danced. He was so graceful in his moves. He spun me out then pulled me back to him. I think Don could learn a few things from him.

As we danced, I saw Don stand behind Nik and point up. Nik saw Blitz stand behind me and point up. Both of us mouthed, "what?"

They whispered, "look up!"

I looked at Nik, and he looked at me then we looked up. Mistletoe. We looked at each other, and Nik said, "don't want to break tradition, now do we?"

"I guess not," I said.

He reached up and placed a hand on the side of my face, then slowly leaned towards me, and just as we were about to kiss, we heard, "Nik!"

As we turned to look, Blitz grabbed her and placed his hand over her mouth, dragging her to a closet. He slammed the door shut and leaned against it. Don walked over and turned our heads to face each other, "now kiss," he said, walking away.

We both looked at each other confused, standing there. Don got a little impatient and walked by pushing me into Nik, who quickly caught me. What in the world is he doing?

Nik helped me up, and I straightened my dress out. Then the next thing I knew Don was standing there looking at us. We looked at him as he said, "will you kiss already. Look, it's not that hard. Put your lips together and kiss."

He threw his hands up and walked away when I said, "what in the world."

Before I had a chance to finish, Nik moved my face to face him and pulled me in for a kiss taking me by surprise. The kiss started small then he deepened it, causing me to wrap my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

The kiss was amazing. It was everything I would hope for my first kiss, and the electricity that I felt from that kiss was undeniable. He pulled back, and I looked at him wide-eyed.

He took a step back and touched his lips as I stood there, then he turned and walked away, leaving me utterly confused. I looked around to see everyone looking at me, and I backed away, "shows over. Nothing to see here folks."

I turned around and walked off the dance floor. I looked around for Don and Blitz, and when they saw me alone, Blitz let go of the door causing Jenny to come flying out of the closet. He took off out of sight.

Don walked up to me, "well?"

"Well, what?"

"How was the kiss?"

"I'm not sure," I said in a confusing tone.

"How are you not sure?"

"He walked away."

"What do you mean he walked away," Blitz asked, walking up.

"Well, the kiss was amazing, and then he turned and walked away. I'm guessing it was bad for him," I said, trying to hide my disappointment.

"That doesn't sound right," Don said.

"Well, since I had never kissed anyone before, I'm guessing it was bad," I said, walking away.

They looked at each other then ran after me.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you saying that was your first kiss," Blitz asked, grabbing my arm?

"Can we not make a big deal out of it? I want to go home."

"Sure. No problem," Don said.

Yep, maybe I was wrong about Nik after all.
