After Christmas things went back to somewhat normal except the fact now I had Nik, Don, and Blitz around me with the addition of Comet. Apparently, Santa didn't want them to screw things up.

I didn't mind since I got to know Comet a bit better and as for the bunny comment, yeah Don got to pay for that. Let's just say it wasn't pretty and Don couldn't walk for a couple of days after Comet gave him a wedgie.

Eventually, Christmas break ended and we were back at school. Yeah, Comet was not happy.

"I can't believe this," he grumbled.

"Oh relax, you're always so tense," Don said.

"Only because I have to keep all of you in line," Comet said.

"Pft, whatever," Don said.

"I take it Comet is not happy," I whispered to Nik.

"Comet is never happy. Neither is Cupid, but that's beside the point," he smiled and I giggled.

We showed Comet around then came lunch which got interesting.

As we all sat there Jenny sauntered over, "so who is the new guy?"

"Oh hey stiff," Blitz said causing most of us to snicker. She shot him a glare.

"You think you're so funny," she said.

"Actually yes but that's beside the point," Blitz said.

"This is Comet. You know the guy that ruined your wedding to Nik," Don added, causing us to snicker even more.

"Oh, that's right. But whatever. I'm so over that anyways. No offense Nik," she said to Nik.

"None took," he mumbled.

"So, anyway, how does one end up like the name Comet?"

"Gee, I don't know, where does one end up with a name like Jenny," he asked back.

"Touché," she said walking over to him and running her finger across his shoulder, "hmmm, interesting. Maybe I'll see you around Comet," she said in the sexiest voice she could manage than she walked away.

"Anyone ever tells that girl that there is no interspecies dating," Comet said.

"Considering she doesn't know we are reindeer, that is a big fat no," Don said.

"Great. Not only did the old man send me to a place I don't want to be, now I have to deal with someone I don't want to know. What else could happen," he asked.

Just then a couple guys walked up.

"Spoke too soon there Comet," Blitz said.

"I hear you're the new guy. Comet is it," one guy asked.

Comet furrowed his eyebrows, "who wants to know?"

"Who names their kid after something in the sky," another guy asked causing the other two guys to snicker.

"Oh lord, here we go," Don said.

"What," I asked, and just then Comet got up and towered over them. His size was a lot bigger than the other guys.

"Yeah, no one makes fun of Comet's name. It's like an unspoken rule," Blitz said.

Before we knew it, Comet was quick and fast and all three guys were laying on the floor. He dusted off his hands and sat back down.

"And that's why they are always on the naughty list," he said.

"Um Comet, we're supposed to be keeping a low profile," Don said.

"They bugged me," he said.

"Yeah but bugging aside, the old man said not to draw attention to ourselves," Blitz said.

Comet rubbed his head in frustration, "fine. I'll keep it to a minimum."

I had a feeling this was going to take finesse where Comet was concerned. He didn't strike me as the type that just went with the flow. So we decided to work with him.

*****
Over the next few days, we worked with Comet on everything especially when it came to other people. His temperament needed to be tamed in so many ways.

At one point I collapsed on the couch.

"You know it's not all bad," Nik said.

"Yes, it is," I said with my face buried into a pillow.

"He's getting there," he said. I turned my head and looked at him then I sat up and he sat next to me, "at least it's not Cupid." This made me laugh. Cupid was even worse than Comet with his temperament.

"I think you and I need to spend some time alone, just the two of us, without the guys," he said bumping my shoulder with his.

"Now that is the best idea I have heard in a long time," I said with a smile.

Then we heard a crash. We both looked at each other and ran to the door. We opened it to find the guys walking towards us with Comet holding a steering wheel in his hand.

"Here," he said, handing me the steering wheel.

"How he got lead in the formation is beyond me," Blitz said walking by us.

"Or how he knows how to guide the sleigh is even a bigger mystery," Don added.

Nik and I looked at each other and looked outside to see mom's car demolished. I looked at Nik, "good thing he knows how to pull a sleigh."

I threw my arms up in the air and went back inside. Great, how am I suppose to explain this to mom?

******
I was up in my bedroom with Nik and the guys trying to figure out what to tell mom when we all heard screaming. Guess I didn't need to tell her, she already knew.

I opened my window and Nik and I stuck our heads out while the guys did the same with the other window. We looked down to see a brand new car in the driveway with a bow and mom losing her mind.

"What in the world," I said.

Mom looked up, "Oh, Hunny! Isn't it great?!"

"Yeah, it's wonderful," I yelled back.

Then a note appeared in Nik's back pocket. He pulled it out and read it.

Tell the boys they are no longer allowed to drive anything but the sleigh.

Santa

"Got to love the old man," Blitz said.

"Always comes through in a pinch," Don added.

"Just be glad because if Mary got the blame the three of you would be on the naughty list for a very long time," Nik told them.

"I think we already are," Comet said.

I'm so going to have to get used to these guys especially when Nik and I do eventually get married. These were going to be a very long four months till graduation.
