Kanan: You got them in battle.
Ezra: I did. I still think they’re cool.
Zeb: Yeah battle scars are a good way to remind yourself not to be stupid.
Ezra: Are you saying I was stupid?

Though I know the others make fun of it sometimes, your lightsaber design is really unique, Kanan. After you made it as a youngling, what did the other younglings think? What did your Master think?

It’s bad etiquette to criticise a padawan for their lightsaber design, so no one said anything exactly. I got a raised eyebrow from some of the Masters but a few of them knew that it was necessary sometimes not to be noticed as a Jedi – we weren’t always welcome everywhere, so having a lightsaber that could look innocuous was a good idea.

Master Billaba thought it was unusual, but she also didn’t question the ways of the force – I think she probably had some inkling, some vision, of what I would need to do as a Jedi. I think she probably thought she’d be there to guide me through it though. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
