"Shadow!" Loki called.

"Wake up!" Yaya said. The two birds stood above him as Shadow blinked the sleep out of his eyes. He ruffled his feathers before looking outside. The sun had reached down to kiss the ocean below, just where they were headed.

"I'm awake! Now let's go!" Shadow hooted, racing out of the hollow. Loki and Yaya smiled at each other before following.

The soft breeze pushed them gently along through the night, the moon beginning to appear from behind the grey mist. It was a half-circle, as if an owl had raked its talons across the moon and put it in two.

Soon, the trio was about to go above the ocean, a dangerous quest. Shadow was worried about their tiny twins for this part. What if their small wings couldn't make it across the vast  ocean? And they couldn't stop if they were tired, they just had to keep going.

Shadow stopped and landed in a tree. He beconed to the others. "Are you sure you can do this guys? I mean, it's going to be pretty hard."

The birds of a feather glanced at each other before smiling. "We were born ready!" They chirped in unison.

Before Shadow could reply, Loki and Yaya jumped out of the tree, tiny wings flapping. They flew and flew, and soon they were flying over the sea. Shadow opened his eyes wide and hurried after them.

"Watch!" Loki started.

"This!" Yaya finished. The two friends dove downwards, heading for  the water. They both skidded their talons across the water, spraying peals of blue into the sky. Shadow barely managed to dodge some.

They continued, making shapes, flying, and having fun. Suddenly, one hit Shadow's beak. He shook it off and laughed before following the other birds.

He felt like a fish with his talons among the water. He remembered having to save the gem from the icy depths of the black water. He carefully joined them, his spray not as exciting or big.

"You have to believe you-" Loki started.

"You won't fall in!" Yaya finished, looking at Shadow with her big yellow eyes. He smiled, before feeling something in his gizzard, something like....faith. He hadn't believed in himself for a while. But this feeling was special, something amazing. He held onto it, and suddenly, his water works were just as good! He felt like he was apart of something, like he finally had a friend. And he did, he had two small friends, that made everything an adventure.
