Friction

Chapter 3

Noah, Arri, Adam and I stand infront of the movie theatre, much to my dismay. Arri had somehow convinced Adam to go along with this.

"Let's see... Jerry Cruncher? Heard it's a great thriller." Noah says, staring ahead at the showing list.

"I don't do horrer." I say quickly.

"Oh come on Bentley, you can hold my hand." Adam says, holding out his hand. Has he forgotten the last time he tried to get me to watch a horrer movie? That night ended in tears, nightmares and cuddling. He'd been charged with taking care of me. Ha, sucked for him.

"Yeah come on Bent!" Noah says teasingly also holding out his hand but withdrawling it when Adam glared at him. Arri wasn't paying any attention. I was busy glaring at the movie titles.

"What about Love Boat? I heard its so sweet!" Arri squels, grabbing Noah's muscular arm.

"That sounds okay." Adam settles, putting his arm around my waist and pulling me into him.

"Thank you." I whisper as i kiss his cheek. I hear Noah pretend to gag but when he gets a strange look from Arri he covers it by faking a cough attack. His acting isn't even that good but she believes it and fusses over him. Arri and I go to get snacks while the boys buy tickets. We're standing in line when a movie preview comes onto one of the tvs near by. It's for some chick flic that adam and i have already seen.

"Oh that movie was so good!" Arri squels.

"It was! Adam and I saw it and it was fabulous. Who did you go with?" I ask before ordering pretzel m&m's.

"Oh, no one." Arri says mysteriously. I was about to ask more when my phone vibrated. There was a text from Sarah. Wait, Sarah?! Sarah is also one of Adam's dad's assistants, the project had been so big that both of them were gone.

S: Hey girl, i'm back! Whatcha doin? wanna hang? love ya!

B: I missed you! you and adam gone at the same time, thought i was gonna die! I'm at a movie with adam.. and arri and noah. ugh! he drives me insane.

S: Ooo Have fun! I have to see you! We need to talk!!!

B: Yeah we do! Movie starting, ttyl!

S: ttyl :)

My best friend is back! Yes! I could not stop smiling! We all sat down just as the movie started. I was between Adam and Arri, Adam held my hand but Arri was on the other side of her seat, almost in Noah's lap. Yesh what has gotten into her?!

The movie was good, not great persay but good. Better than any horrer movie would have been. We walked out and Noah and Arri were holding hands. Gag. We stopped at Adam's car, he drove, i was in the passenger seat and Noah and Arri made out in the back. Double gag. Adam dropped me off first for some reason, but he made up for it when he kissed me goodnight on my doorstep. He is so adorable.

I ran upstairs and waved goodbye from my window. He didn't see me. He was talking to Arri, who had moved up front. Noah was staring right at me with an "I told you so" look on his face... What the what? I had a strange feeling about all this but i just ignored it and changed. I had worn my favorite jeans, a green and white peasant blouse and my gray ankle boots. I changed into my purple and white polka dotted pjs. I was out once my head hit the pillow.

I was woken at about 2:30 in the morning by insane binging noises coming from my computer. I sluggishly got up and brought my laptop back to bed with me. 5 emails from Noah. At 2:30 in the morning. Its official, hes mental.

N: enjoy the movie? i think the car ride home was my favorite part.

sicko.

N: Ur friend (Andrea? is that her name?) really seems to like me.

N: It's Arri. That's it. I think I might even know someone she likes more than me.

N: Watch your back Bent. Arri isn't who you think she is.

N: Remember, we're doing the project my way. Don't even think about changing it or turning it in before tomorrow afternoon.

Too tired to deal with his jerk-ish-ness or his obscure messages i close the page and the computer, putting it under a pile of laundry for good measure. This time i can't get back to sleep. I toss and turn but Noah's face when they drove away and his emails echo in my mind.

"Watch your back Bent"

"Arri isn't who you think she is"

After fighting sleep for what seemed like forever, I fell back asleep at 4:40. What is he doing to me?
