Pirate!Hetalia x Half-Mermaid!Reader
|Chapter 1|
You swam through the ocean, seeing fish along the way. Your (f/c) tail swished behind you; you swam deeper and deeper, further to the bottom, where the kingdom was.
You didn't belong to the kingdom, and you didn't live there either. It was more of a.... resting place. This was also probably the only kingdom which accepted you and your ability to turn human. And, turning human was a extremely rare "curse"(as said by other kingdoms), though the queen herself thought it was a gift instead.
When you reached the gate of the kingdom(1), one of the guards(2) stopped you.
"I remember you," she sneered.
"No you don't." her sister(3) interrupted.
"Yes, I do!! She that land walking freak!" the first sneered. "Fine, you deal with her."
"Maybe I just will." the second one said, and you both watched the first one go away.
"Ignore my sister. You want to go to the queen, right?"
You nodded, and she smiled.
"Right this way," she said, leading you into the castle. "My name is (friend's/name), what's yours?"
"(F/n)." you answered.
"I like your name. Did you name yourself? It fits you and your look. Probably your personality too."
"Thanks, yours does too." you said. Mermaids usually didn't know their parents, but you were an exception. Parents usually left their child right away, putting them into a shelter of some sort. You however, were born on land, in a small village. You never knew your mother, only your father. Apparently, you father was human and your mother was a mermaid. Your father had died not long ago, when he was sick, he had told you to go into the water and live there.
You, being the rebel you are, didn't listen to what your nearly-dead father had to say. Instead, you did go into the water, but just for some time. You had different opinions about which was better, water or land. Though, no one ever really asked. All they asked was things like "How was it there?" and the annoying "Can you take me there?"
Frequently asked questions like those soon started to bombard your mind, and you only snapped out of it when (f/n) started talking again.
"We're here. See you some other time, I guess?" she asked, her eyes sparkling. She kinda looked lonely; you could tell by her eyes. She hid those emotions though, and any other ones like that.
"Thank you. Yes, why not?" you said, smiling. She smiled too, and swam away, letting you open the door to the queen(4).
Looking as intimidating as ever, she asked, "What brings you here (Y/n)?"
"I saw pirates." you stated simply.
"Well, that makes sense, considering they're all over the sea."
"They were next to (island/name)."
The queen gasped. "That's not too far from here. But we are so deep underwater, they'll never find us. But if they do.... we'll be in great trouble. Could I ask of you a favour?"
"Yes, you may." you responded, not really wanting to say no and getting locked up in a cell for torture.
"Great," she said, smiling. "I can give you a necklace. You must wear it at all times, and it will let you be human, even if you do touch the water. I need you to spy on the pirates, since usually they'd want to capture a mermaid for something. Can I trust you with this quest?"
You nodded. A minute later, after a long silence, the queen gave you a necklace(5).
"You shall not put it on underwater, or you will turn human and drown. Understood?"
"Yes." you said, and you were excused.
Once outside, you swam out of the kingdom, earning an annoyed look from the first guard, and a sad look from the second guard. You had just sighed and swam away.
You were almost at the surface, already getting closer to a rock. There were no ships in sight.
When you reached the surface, you decided to sit on the rock. You put the necklace on, and you glowed (f/c). You had on this (6) (if your favourite colour isn't blue, replace it with another).
You looked pretty cool, and you sat on the rock, looking at the water. If you were to sing right now, you'd attract many pirates and sailors. So you decided not to.
And somehow, you fell asleep.
~*~ Sometime later ~*~
"Captain! Captain!" a crew member shouted all over the deck.
"What is it now, you idiot?!" the captain roared.
"I saw some rock! And there was a woman laying on it!"
The captain sighed. "It must have been your imagination."
