"Come on, man! It's your freaking birthday!" Alan shouted out over the noise in the night club.
"Yeah! You know what, Josh, we're not gonna wait around while you sit your ass here drinking light beer." Cody was practically screaming just so that Josh could hear him. Josh was not in the mood to party hard with the guys tonight, even though it was his 28th birthday. The night club, Scar-lit as far as he could remember, was extremely dark, and that traditional disco ball was hanging from the ceiling, sending occasional flashes of red and blue lights at the group of young men. People were screaming and dancing all around him, and Josh felt as though he was going to suffocate from the stench of smoke and the rotten breath of all the drunken people surrounding him.
This was so not his scene. Court was more like it.
"Yo, pretty wom-an!" Cody screamed at a woman who had the body of a twenty-five--year old, but Josh knew better even under all those blinding lights. So much make-up clearly meant fifty+.
The blond woman raised her eyebrows and stood still amidst all the dancing, "Something wrong with your drink, young man?" Josh then recognized the woman as the owner of the club. He'd seen her picture beside the entrance.
"No ma'am. But remember that favour I called in earlier?" he winked at her, and, slowly, the owner's bulging lips lifted up in a menacing smile. Chills ran down Josh's back. Something was creepy about this woman.
"Yes, of course. How could I have forgotten your pretty face? Will you come this way please?" but before she could turn around and head in the other direction, Cody stopped her in her tracks.
"Actually, it's for my friend Joshua here. He's the birthday boy, you know." And he winked again at the blondie.
"Wait, what's for me?" Josh was getting very wary of his friends, and frankly, he just wanted to go home and catch some sleep.
His friends didn't give him a reply. They just pushed him forward, and ,suddenly, the owner of the night club was tightly holding his hand and dragging him behind her (a bit roughly for a woman her age) towards the back of the club.
"Ma'am, where are you taking me?" he tried to sound civil but was finding it very difficult to keep his voice level.
"Now, now. You'll see. Plus you already paid. Or should I say your friend paid for you. And quite a large amount too, I must say."
"Paid for what?! Ma'am, please let go of my hand!" Josh tried to pull his hand away, but the lady wouldn't let go and he didn't want to hurt an older woman. He was panicking inside now. What the hell had Cody paid for exactly? Knowing his friend, this couldn't be any good.
They passed through a black door, and suddenly they were out of all the noise, smoke, loud music and darkness. It was like the second that door clicked closed behind him, he entered another dimension. Josh found himself in a long curved corridor, the walls laid with plush red velvet and golden buttons giving the corridor a throne-room kind of look. The floors were also laid with a rich plush red carpet, and Josh's feet sank in comfortably with each step he took. He had no idea where he was going but he was thankful that he had at least gotten away from the party scene. The lady had still not left his hand yet and she pulled him forward in the vanilla smelling corridor.
They continued walking till they got to the very end of the corridor. Although there were doors on both sides as he'd walked down the corridor, they were all just single doors. Josh now stood in front of a large golden door which had a small window at the top, but it was currently closed and he couldn't see anything behind it since it was tinted a very dark red.
"You have the entire night. But you must leave before four am."
And just like that she turned and started to leave.
"Wait! What the hell is going on?! Where am I? and what do I have the entire night to do?" the questions tumbled out of him angrily.
She threw her blond bob backwards and started laughing outrageously loudly, "Surely, surely you must have understood by now! Man, you're either stupid, or being stupid. Why, there's a pretty girl waiting for you in there." She winked at him. "you know what I mean. Now enjoy your night." And she was gone. Josh was in such a state of shock that he remained hammered to his place for about a full five minutes. When he finally came to his senses, he ran back to the black door.
It was locked.
"Great!" he mumbled to himself. Going back to the big door at the end of the corridor, he wondered just what kind of person Cody really was. He'd set him up to spend the night with a prostitute for god's sake!
Josh stood there for a while before he realized he really needed the men's. Unable to hold himself any longer, he decided to open the door.
Slowly pushing the large red doors, he peeked inside before setting his foot on the dark red carpet.
No sound.
Feeling a bit more relaxed as he thought maybe he'd be lucky and the girl would be gone, he looked around, noticing that the flooring and the walls were covered in pretty much the same way as the outer corridor. He also noticed that there was no one in the first part of this suite. He saw a gigantic TV and a large sofa and more furnishings, but there was no bed (thank god) and there weren't any doors in sight that might lead to a bathroom, apart from another set of smaller golden doors, which clearly led to the bedroom.
Feeling the need to use the toilet even more urgently now, he hurried towards the other doors and slowly opened them. He now heard the music.
The girl was lying on the bed with her back to Josh. Her long straight blond hair stretched behind her in a golden pool on the pillows. Despite himself, Josh found he wasn't able to contain himself from running his eyes down her smooth curves clad in a black silk dress.
But to his surprise she got up, and, walking to a mirror, she pulled at the roots of her hair, and in one swift movement, her hair was off. Off? Josh hid himself behind one of the half open sliding doors, and watched as the woman shook her natural brown waves. She put the blond wig on the dressing table and looked up at the mirror.
She gasped.
And then turned around to give Josh a full frontal view.
