I didn't get any of them.
I didn't get any of the seven jobs that i had applied for.
It's not like I wasn't qualified enough for it.
They just didn't want me.
Stepping out of The Bridal store I inhaled a deep breath. tears escaping down my cheeks.
I was so frustrated and ready to give up.
I had lost my car just two weeks. Not too long after I had buried my mother.
The only other person I Had in this life.
I had never known my father and all my life my mother and had lived in a trailer park. I knew about coming home from school to tea nothing and wake up to still have nothing to eat.
I got a new pair of shoes whenever my last one was either too small or damaged. and most of the shoes I got where either ones that my mother had found, or one someone had given her-and that was rarely. She had the choice to steal. But always thought me that stealing was never the way.
Now at the age of Twenty One. I was alone, jobless and living in a run down trailer that looked as if it was ready to fall apart. with the last slice of bread home waiting to be eaten.
It was around minutes to twelve and my stomach grumbled signalling it was ready for lunch.
The sky was grey notifying us that it was going to rain soon.
Sadly, i had to ignore the feeling continued walking.
Less that A few seconds later A little girl crashed into me.
She was about four with really big bright eyes and had on a pink ballet clothes with a blue converse.
She stared at me with wide eyes before grinning "You're pretty." showing a missing front tooth.
"Why thank you." I said weakly down at her." My lips quivering.
"Are you crying?" She asked.
I looked around the crowd around me.
Surely this little girl had her parents worrying about. She was probably lost in this crowd.
"Y-yes." I said sadly stooping to her height.
"Why? you're so pretty." She frowned.
"ARABELLE!" Before I could answer young man probably around my age came bolting through the crowd with two other little girls holding unto his hand. A worried expression on his face.
"Uh oh." She said.
Relief flooded unto his face when he saw the little girl standing with me.
He dropped the the two girls hands and dropped to his knees and hugged her "Belle" He cried as I stood up straight.
He was blonde and wearing an all black business suit. He was lean and from how the sun shown in his eyes it looked gold. He was definitely handsome.
The other two little girls stared up at me smiling sweetly as they too wore Their ballet clothes and converse that did not matched their converse's.
"You don't have to go to meet that stinky lady anymore Uncle Ross, I found A pretty Nanny." She said grabbing my hand.
The handsome man's name was Ross.
It has a nice ring to it.
I stared with wide eyes at the little girl.
Nanny?
The young man now realized that there was a fifth person in their little reunion.
He stood up straight picking up the little girl causing her grip to fall from mine as her Uncle balanced her on her hip.
He stared at me for a few seconds before saying "Thank you so much for holding her for me."
My eyes widened.
"Holding her? She was the one that crashed into me. And she was very sweet." I smiled softly.
The other two girls whispered something in each other's ear.
"I want her to be my nanny." Arabelle said to her uncle.
He turned to her "Arabelle, you can't just pick a random stranger as your nanny. besides you have a nanny we're about to meet in a few. Plus i'm also sure miss..." He said turning to me for my name.
"Laura." i said.
"Laura, i'm sure miss Laura has a job of her own." He said to the little girl making her frown.
"I actually don't." I mumbled to myself frowning.
"SEE! she can be our nanny! Please Uncle Ross, Oh please. I've never wanted something more in my life!" Arabelle cried out.
Oh geez, i definitely did not mean to say that out loud.
Ross turned to me.
"You don't?" He asked eyebrows raised.
I shook my head.
I honestly had no idea what was going on.
He then turned to the other two.
They grinned and nodded "She's pretty."
A blushed crept unto my face.
Wow i was called pretty twice for the day.
Score!
He sighed before saying "Even if I do thin she can be. What will happen to Mrs.Potts?"
They all shrugged.
He sighed again before fishing out his phone from his pocket before dialing and putting it to his ear.
"Maria? Yes, Please cancel my lunch meeting with Mrs.Potts....Yes...Thank you." He said before ending the call then turning to me.
Wow, who was he?
"Laura are you busy now?" He asked
I shook my head frantically.
He and the little girls grinned at me.
"Will you do my nieces and I the pleasure of having lunch with us?"
