I remember it was a snowy winter day when she was born...
Outside the frosted window, it was white, the lake, the trees, and the ground. Snowflakes were dancing along with the chilly wind. Her skin was almost as fair as the white world outside, and her hazel eyes twinkled in the light. Black curly hair rested on the top of her head. She was named Snow White. And along with her came her twin sister Mavi (blue) White.
Unlike Snow White, she was born with strawberry blond hair and crystal blue eyes. Her cheeks were slightly tinted pink, but both of the girls had the family's snowy fair skin and are adorable with their chubby cheeks. But soon after the two of them were named, their mother passed away, leaving them alone, depending on their heartbroken father.
Years passed, and their father remarried a cruel, young woman. Nothing like their mother who was warm, compassionate. They were ignored and seen as invisible by her. When they pass in the castle's halls, the girls bowed their heads to her, but she doesn't even bother to glance at them, holds her head high and struts away swinging her cape over her shoulder, sending shivers through the girls' bodies. They cuddled with each other in fear, hiding behind the nearest flower pot, hoping she wouldn't return.
Snow and Mavi's father couldn't see his daughters' troubles. He was blinded by the Evil Queen's magic, seduced by her beauty, and soon enough they had a child together, a boy, Henry White. He was different from the girls, didn't have the fair white skin they inherited from their mother. Fawn colored hair and hazel eyes like Snow, he was spoiled by his malicious mother. A weakling, mommy's boy, spoiled brat. And when it came to trouble, the blame was always cast on the girls' heads. The king didn't even bother to think twice. They punished to do chores like palace maids, sweeping, cleaning, covered in dirt all day.
They didn't mind the work, but the teasing was constant from Henry. "Oh! Look at those princesses, oops, wrong term! Scullery maids!" His laugh was cold, dark, evil, just like his mother. Every day Snow and Mavi would return to their rooms covered in dust, sore, cold. Their hearts ached love, felt alone. They knew they only had each other, and that was enough for the moment. They were able to survive.
